Travel Rule Changes For Easter Skiing In Whistler
From 28th February Canada's entry rules are changing, making it easier for families to travel to Whistler for the ski trip of a lifetime this Easter.
With mandatory testing and quarantines being dropped from Monday, the 8000 acres of Whistler ski terrain are welcoming Brits back to the slopes. For learners there is arguably no better place than Whistler which has 1,600 acres of learner terrain. For those wanting to stretch those ski legs, Whistler's epic five bowls are legendary and offer ultimate powder skiing.
Off the slopes there is as much to do as there is on them which is great for families wanting to enjoy time together out of ski boots. Whether it's zip wiring through snow covered valleys, skidooing up to a Canadian hut at sunrise for a traditional maple pancake breakfast or snow-shoeing through the forest to a teepee for hot chocolate and shmors.
The newly refurbished Four Seasons is the ultimate accomodation option and their outside pool and spa area provides the ultimate wind-down apres experience.
Canada's entry rules in summary:
Fully vaccinated travellers will no longer be subject to mandatory arrival testing. Instead, all fully vaccinated travellers arriving to Canada (from any country) will be subject to the random arrival testing program which has been in place since Canada re-opened its borders back in August. Even more good news, travellers who get selected for the random arrival testing will not have to quarantine while awaiting their test results.
Lifting all restrictions for unvaccinated children under 12 entering Canada with fully vaccinated parents/guardians (i.e. they no longer have to isolate from school, camps and daycares for 14 days).
All travellers still have to do a pre-arrival test before entering Canada, but now travellers have the option of using a COVID-19 rapid antigen test result (taken the day prior to their scheduled flight or arrival at the land border or marine port of entry) or a molecular test result (taken no more than 72 hours before their scheduled flight or arrival at the land border or marine port of entry). Note: Taking a rapid antigen test at home is not sufficient to meet the pre-entry requirement – it must be authorized by the country in which it was purchased and must be administered by a laboratory, healthcare entity or telehealth service.
All international travellers entering Canada must continue to use ArriveCAN.
There are no changes to the testing and quarantine requirements for unvaccinated travellers to enter Canada.
