Ski jumping athletes from around the country may be on lockdown at home. But it's still a perfect time for them to compete in the U.S. Virtual Ski Jumping National Championships. That's right, junior ski jumpers from ages 7-13 have sent in their best jumps from the season on video for a dramatic virtual head-to-head competition.
There will be six videos, one for each class and gender (U14, U12, and U10). We will be posting one video a day on youtube + social channels for six days straight from April 13-18. For video we are using footage sent in from coaches and parents. Our national team athletes are judging remotely and our announcers are commentating remotely.
The champions will win a pair of skis for their home club.
We have run this event successfully in the past, however this year we have put a huge emphasis on production quality and distribution volume given the current state of live sports. At the time of its release next week, virtual nationals will be one of the only sporting events in the world.
