Coronavirus - A Message From Alpine Canada
Alpine Canada is grateful for the tremendous spirit and unity of our ski racing community and all Canadians as we collectively face the new realities that have emerged from the COVID-19 pandemic. In a statement they say:
"To skiers across the country, coaches, ski clubs, volunteers, office staff and fans thank you for your dedication to our sport, our athletes and our organization.
"Our thoughts are with people around the world who have been impacted by COVID-19. We are thankful for our first responders, healthcare workers and all those who are working every day to keep our communities safe.
"Now, more than ever, we must come together as a larger community to ensure that we are making the right decisions for not only our own health, but our health care system and vulnerable populations. We must listen to authorities, practice social distancing, and check up on each other.
"A reminder to our community that ski areas are closed and we should limit our access to the back country to prevent the possibility of injuries and put extra burden on the health system. Let’s all stay home and help stop the spread of COVID-19 so that we can get back to the sport we love next season.
"We do not know what our new normal will be, but we know we will come out of this stronger as a team, as an organization and as a country.
"We’re all in this together. Please join us and be a part of the solution.
"Stay safe out there."
