Successful Start To The First Year Of Training At Garaventa

Garaventa AG is continuing its commitment to promoting young talent this year and is welcoming 14 new apprentices to its locations in Goldau and Uetendorf.

Garaventa has been developing and building ropeways all over the world for almost 100 years. For the implementation of demanding projects, the company from Central Switzerland relies on highly trained specialists. The shortage of skilled workers is also an issue for the Goldauer Bahnbauer. That is why the company is going on the offensive at the grassroots level and is increasing the number of apprentices from eight to 14 this year.

Cable car mechatronics apprenticeship: inside also in Goldau

Every year, Garaventa offers apprenticeships in five different professions: designers, ropeway machatronics technicians, polymechanics, plant and apparatus engineers and business people. This year, Garaventa has expanded the range of training courses and is also training ropeway mechatronics in Goldau for the first time. This training has been offered in Uetendorf since summer 2020. Garaventa is currently training a total of 40 young men and women.

Start by information day

With the information day at the end of July, the new apprentices at Garaventa took the step into working life. The new apprentices received a comprehensive company presentation, explored the various departments as part of a tour of the company and enjoyed lunch together. In the afternoon, the trainees had the opportunity to visit the Stoosbahn.
