Arosa & MountOn Enter Pioneering Partnership To Make Arosa First Fully Inclusive Destination In Switzerland
Arosa Tourismus and MountOn have entered into a pioneering partnership to make Arosa the first fully inclusive destination in Switzerland. The long-term cooperation between the holiday destination and the Lucerne start-up aims to break down barriers and make it easier for everyone to access leisure activities.
The importance of this project lies in the creation of inclusion and equality, which are crucial for the sustainable development of society and tourism. Despite various efforts, the existing leisure activities in Switzerland are often not sufficiently accessible and planning activities is complicated. This makes it difficult for people with disabilities or older people to access leisure activities.
Through the cooperation between Arosa Tourism and MountOn, various measures are taken to promote inclusion in Arosa. As part of the activity testing project, the existing leisure facilities in the holiday village in Schanfigg are being checked for accessibility and relevant information on accessibility is being collected. In this way, concrete steps can be taken to improve accessibility and make Arosa a place that offers the best possible access for everyone. With the cooperation, the first steps have been taken. The next step is to sensitize tourism service providers to the issue of accessibility. By further developing their offer, they can address a further group of guests and benefit from a higher number of guests.
In the course of the sustainable positioning of the holiday destination, Arosa and its service providers are striving for an offer from which everyone can benefit equally. Against this background, the partnership between Arosa Tourismus and MountOn is an important step towards an inclusive tourism landscape, from which not only people with special needs and their families can benefit, but also other guests such as older people or families with prams.
Arosa would like to once again play a pioneering role and be a driving force for social change. With its joint commitment with MountOn, the Graubünden mountain village underlines its efforts to build an inclusive society with exemplary character in Arosa and to become nothing less than a completely inclusive destination in order to offer everyone the same opportunities for a fulfilling mountain experience.
MountOn is an innovative young company from Lucerne that has set itself the task of making leisure activities in Switzerland accessible and tangible for everyone.
