Brunni-Bahnen Is Paying Dividends Again

For the last time, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Albert Infanger, welcomed around 300 shareholders to the General Meeting of Brunni-Bahnen AG. After twelve years he will handsover the office to Fredy Miller. Although the Brunni-Bahnen have had turbulent times, a dividend of CHF 25 per title can be paid out. And the demand in the summer season 2021 confirms that the supply is right.

After the Annual General Meeting in 2020 was held in writing due to the Corona restrictions, the Board of Directors was able to personally welcome 300 shareholders in the Kursaal Engelberg today on November 2. "Despite the Corona restrictions and the interim closings of restaurants and ski operations, we can present a very gratifying annual profit of CHF 242,046," says Managing Director Roman Barmettler. The Board of Directors' proposal to pay out CHF 150,000 of the available net retained profits from the capital contribution reserves was unanimously approved by the meeting. This means that an amount of CHF 25 is paid out per share, which corresponds to a dividend of 10% of the nominal capital.

After thirteen years on the Board of Directors, most recently twelve years as Chairman, Albert Infanger, who was born in Engelberg, is stepping down. “The Brunni was a project close to my heart. I am delighted with the development of our mountain railway and I was very happy to go every extra mile, ”said Albert Infanger about his many years of activity. The applause from the meeting was correspondingly large.

The assembly elected Thomas Küng, former managing director of Brunni-Bahnen Engelberg AG, to the board of directors for the vacant seat. All previous members of the Board of Directors were confirmed in office for a further three years. Fredy Miller will take over the chairmanship. The experienced tourism and transport specialist has been a member of the Brunni-Bahnen strategic committee since 2010.
Projects are being tackled

Brunni-Bahnen Engelberg AG used the general assembly to provide information about two upcoming major projects. On the one hand, a feasibility study was commissioned to examine the expansion of the accommodation offer for the target groups “families and connoisseurs”. The strategically pioneering project is to be located in the Ristis at 1,600 m above sea level next to the mountain station. The first steps for a possible replacement system at the Schonegg ski lift were also taken. An autonomously operated aerial tramway is to replace the lift in the future.
Results summer season 2021

Brunni-Bergbahnen AG can also look back on a pleasant summer 2021. Around 95,000 guests (first-time entries) visited the Brunni area in the past summer season and triggered a quarter of a million trips (frequencies). Despite a rainy month in July, Brunni-Bahnen Engelberg AG was able to close the summer with an increase in sales of around 5% compared to the five-year average. This to the satisfaction of managing director Roman Barmettler: “It was the second best summer for us so far. This is also due to the high quality of our gastronomy offer. "

The Berglodge Restaurant Ristis was able to close the summer season - despite Corona restrictions - at the high sales level of the previous summer. According to Roman Barmettler, the level of the times is but not yet reached before Corona. In view of the circumstances, those responsible at Brunni-Bahnen Engelberg AG rate the result for the 2021 summer season as satisfactory.
