Sugarbush Hosts First Pride Event this Weekend
Sugarbush’s Pride Weekend will commence on March 31st and offer a variety of fun events for anyone to enjoy through April 2nd.
Pride Weekend at Sugarbush will kick off March 31st with Sushi Night at Rumble’s Bistro and Bar. Rumble’s will be rolling up a variety of sushi specials on Fridays this winter. Head in for an authentic specials including Gyoza, miso soup, Wakame salad, a range of Maki rolls and Nigiri
On Saturday, April 1st, everyone is invited for a day chock full of events. At 10AM there will be a guided Meet the Mountain Tour offered. From 12PM-3PM Lawson’s Finest Liquids will be sampling their brand new beer, with chances to win some merch too. Stop by for a taste of a local favorite’s newest release. Starting at 1:30PM you won’t want to miss the Pride Parade with Après followed immediately by the Dance Party. Both of which will be DJ’d and filled with community and high energy.
That evening, the celebrations continue with Live Music and Après Good Times at Castlerock Pub. Stick around after for a Comedy Show starting at 6:30PM featuring LGBTQ comedians, Kendall Farrell, Bailey Pope, Vicki Ferentinos, and Dan Frank (see bios below). End your evening with a night of Karaoke at Castlerock Pub hosted by drag queen, Emoji Nightmare (bio below).
On Sunday, April 2nd, there will be a Drag Brunch at Rumble’s Bistro and Bar to end off Pride Weekend right at 11AM ($25/alcohol not included). Emoji Nightmare will lead the 2 hour brunch entertainment with 4 other queens by their side. There will be no cover charge, but tips are encouraged for the performers (Venmo tips accepted). Reservations are recommended.
All weekend, Emoji Nightmare will be the host and MC of many of the events. It will be a weekend full of skiing, dancing, celebrating and more. Friends, families, and partners alike are invited to partake in the events and activities around the resort.

Emoji Nightmare Bio: Emoji grew up in Cambridge, VT on a dairy farm where they still reside and they are an alum of Northern Vermont University. They are a published editor (Tasteful Traditions, Red Barn Books, 2014), and have held or currently serve in several positions on other local non-profit or municipal boards. In 2016, they helped write the grant known as The Silo Project, which transformed two abandoned concrete silos into the largest outdoor public art installment in the state of Vermont. They are a previous board member of Outright Vermont and still spends time volunteering for the organization as a Friday Night Group co-facilitator in Lamoille County. They were the lead organizer of the Pride Vermont Parade & Festival for four years between 2018 and 2021 and worked for Pride Center of Vermont. In 2021, they began writing and recording music for an EP.
Comedian Bios:
- Vicki Ferentinos has been seen on Comedy Central, BravoTV and The Food Network. She is a writer, comedian, chef and all around crazy person...only crazy in a good way. Ferentinos also writes a weekly column called "From the Mixing Bowl" in the Vermont Standard newspaper. She was trained at the Upright Citizens Brigade, NYC, the Institute for Culinary Education, NYC and has had many life adventures which have informed her to lead with her heart, head and to give the good where she can. She recently performed her one woman show "Woman of the Woods" to sold out audiences and has been performing all over the country in 2023!
- Kendall Farrell is a New York City based standup comedian from Vermont. He was named a ‘Comic To Watch’ at the 2019 New York Comedy Festival and was featured as a “break out artist” at the famed Caroline’s on Broadway. His work has been heard on SiriusXM as well as seen in web content for Adult Swim and at comedy festivals across the country including the Brooklyn Comedy Festival, the Red Clay Comedy Festival, the Women in Comedy Festival, the 10,000 Laughs Festival, the Rogue Island Comedy Festival, and the Cream City Comedy Festival, among others
- Bailey Pope (She/Her/Etc) is a New York based Comedian, writer, and pigeon-holed actress, providing the overly-tattooed, failed rock star transgender woman comedy that everyone has been searching centuries for. Bailey has been featured in festivals including the New York Comedy Fest, Limestone, Lookout and more. She has also shared stages with Roy Wood Jr. Maria Bamford and Sam Jay. As an actress, she often appears as “Angry bartender” or “Aloof tattoo artist” in shows such as AppleTV+ “City On Fire”. Her writing has been published by Hard Times and Refinery29.
- Queer comic from NYC, Dan Frank, host for the evening, has been featured at the Tiny Cupboard Penthouse Festival, GEM Fest, PN & Friends, and toured for the musical/comedy act Queer MF across the Southwest/West Coasts. His comedy mostly deals with his family, his experiences from pretending to be straight, and how everyone thinks he’s related to Anne Frank.
