New Apprentices For Garaventa
Garaventa is strongly committed to promoting young talent and is welcoming 13 new apprentices to its locations in Goldau and Uetendorf this year.
Garaventa has been developing and building cable cars all over the world for almost 100 years. The company relies on highly trained specialists to implement the demanding projects. The shortage of skilled workers is also an issue at Garaventa: That is why the company is going on the offensive and continues to invest heavily in the training of young talent. "The cable car industry is developing rapidly and therefore offers exciting prospects for young talent," says Garaventa CEO Arno Inauen.
"At Garaventa, trainees not only experience an exciting working environment in the world of cable cars, but also benefit from numerous advantages. We offer modern workplaces and machines where trainees can develop and expand their skills. In addition, thanks to the cooperation between Garaventa and Seilbahnen Schweiz, they receive a free annual pass for all Swiss cable cars."
Diverse apprenticeships
Every year, Garaventa offers apprenticeships in the professions of designer, polymechanic, cable car mechatronics engineer, plant and equipment builder and business administration. A total of 42 young women and men are currently in training at Garaventa. The training offer is constantly reviewed and adapted to the current requirements of the industry.
Get-to-know-you day/information day to start
An information day at the end of July marked the start of working life for the new apprentices. The day began with a comprehensive company presentation and a tour of the various departments in the Goldau plant. Initial contacts were made over lunch. The afternoon offered the apprentices the opportunity to visit the Stoosbahn and gain their first practical insight into the world of cable car technology.
