World Pro Ski Tour Will Host Rocky Mountain Pro Ski Classic In Snowmass, Colorado, March 8-10

The World Pro Ski Tour will host their second event of the three-race season, the Rocky Mountain Pro Ski Classic, at Snowmass, Colorado, March 8-10. World Pro Ski Tour events will be some of the only opportunities to witness a field of Olympians, national champions and NCAA champions in the U.S. as they face off side by side in dual slalom action.

"Hosting a race at the Aspen Snowmass family of resorts this winter is extremely exciting. We're proud to add Snowmass to our tremendous list of host partners with Sunday River, Maine, and Waterville Valley, New Hampshire," said Ed Rogers, president of the World Pro Ski Tour. "We're particularly thrilled to grow the tour across the country and bring the action to our many Colorado fans. There is a long tradition of pro ski racing at Aspen and the 2018 Rocky Mountain Pro Ski Classic will be sure to showcase a world-class field of racers."

The White Mountain Dual Challenge at Waterville Valley, New Hampshire, will kick off the 2018 season with top athletes like three-time Olympian Nolan Kasper; 2015 North American Cup overall champion Michael Ankeny; 2017 U.S. and Canadian slalom champion AJ Ginnis; and second-ranked American slalom skier Robby Kelley. These top North American racers will face off at the Rocky Mountain Pro Ski Classic with challengers from Europe, South America and other areas of the world. The overall series champion will be decided at the Visit Maine Pro Ski Championship at Sunday River, Maine.

"We are excited to welcome the World Pro Ski Tour to Snowmass, continuing the celebration of Snowmass's 50th anniversary season," says John Rigney, senior vice president, Aspen Skiing Company. "This event offers a fun format for spectators and athletes alike."

Attendance at World Pro Ski Tour events is always free of charge and spectators will be treated with sponsored experiences and the unique chance to mingle and ski with Olympians from across the world. The World Pro Ski Tour is an organization dedicated to rekindling the legacy of professional dual alpine ski racing. The tour is lead by the former president of the U.S. Pro Ski Tour, Ed Rogers of Bath, Maine; Craig Marshall of Portland, Maine; Kevin Clarke of Fryeburg, Maine; Barrett Stein of Tamarack, Idaho; and John Jacobs of Glens Falls, New York. The group looks to capitalize on the popularity of the dual format to maintain a full-season tour and grow the ski industry.
