World Pro Ski Tour Prepares For Aspen Mountain Season Opener
The World Pro Ski Tour (WPST) will open the 2024 race season at Aspen Mountain on Friday, January 12 for the 2024 season of professional ski races. The Aspen Snowmass Tour stop will feature two men’s and two women’s professional dual slalom races on Aspen Mountain’s Little Nell run.
“We are so excited to launch into this season with more races at the best ski racing venues in the country,” said Jon Franklin, CEO of the World Pro Ski Tour. “We begin at Aspen Mountain, which has incredible skiing heritage as part of the original Pro Tour with Jean Claude Killy, Spider Sabich and Billy Kidd racing down the Little Nell run, the same that we’ll be on.”

- Jan 11: Pro Athlete Registration, 3-5:30pm Mountain Chalet
- Jan 12: Pro Race Qualifiers, 11am Little Nell Run
- Jan 13: Aspen Pro Open (Men & Women), 11am Little Nell Run
- Jan 14: Colorado Pro Open (Men & Women), 11am Little Nell Run
The WPST Aspen stop will host qualifiers and four separate pro races (two men’s and two women’s), where athletes meet on the hill for a dual super slalom, single-elimination, bracket-style competition akin to drag-racing on snow. On the women’s side, expected are four-time Olympian and 2023 Tour Champion, Erin Mielzynski; 2022 Tour Champion, Tuva Norbye and more. On the men’s side, expect to see Olympian and 2023 Tour Champion, Simon Breitfuss-Kammerlander of Austria; FIS World Cup athlete, David Ketterer, of Germany, and other notable competitors, including NCAA All-Americans, National Champions and others competing for nearly $100,000 in prize money over race weekend.
