Work Commences On Livigno Moguls & Aerials Venue For 2026 Milano Cortina Games
Construction has officially begun on the Livigno Aerials & Moguls Park, set to host events during the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympic Winter Games. The venue, located at the base of the Carosello 3000 gondola, promises to offer a perfect open space setting at the heart of the resort.
The park will be the stage for several thrilling events, including aerials, the mixed team aerials event, and moguls. Notably, the 2026 Winter Games will debut the dual moguls competition, expected to be a standout addition to the Olympic program. Given the past success of moguls events at previous Games, the dual moguls competition is anticipated to deliver a spectacular show for spectators worldwide.
In preparation for the Olympics, Livigno is set to host the World Cup next season, serving as the official test event. From March 11-13, the world's best freestyle athletes will compete in the World Cup finals for aerials, moguls, and dual moguls, providing a crucial testing ground before the Engadin 2025 World Championships in St. Moritz.
FIS Freestyle Race Director, Andrea Rinaldi, expressed his optimism about the project, stating, "Everything is progressing on schedule. During my recent spring site inspection, I was very impressed with the construction work. We are excited about Livigno joining the World Cup tour next year as a test event and are eagerly anticipating the dual moguls competition's debut in the Olympic program in 2026."
While Livigno is already well-established in the world of freestyle skiing and snowboarding, hosting the Olympic Games will be a landmark event for the resort. It marks the culmination of years of dedication and development, elevating Livigno to the global stage and promising an unforgettable experience for athletes and fans alike.
