WKO Cable Car Association’s Horl: “School Sports Weeks Are A Successful Model And Ensure Broad Access To Skiing!”

WKÖ Cable Car Association welcomes extension of the School Sports Week 100

"The domestic school sports weeks are a proven success model with growing potential," says Franz Hörl, chairman of the WKÖ trade association of Austrian cable cars, and is pleased about the extension of the school sports week 100. The number of applications for support for socially disadvantaged students has increased by 2.5 times year-on-year, making school sports weeks easier or possible for almost 2,300 students so far. Hörl also expects lively participation in the school sports weeks for the coming winter.

"The model also plays an important role for skiing and represents the entry into skiing for many young people. In terms of social balance, the instrument also makes an important contribution to ensuring that skiing remains accessible to all," says Hörl.

This effect is also confirmed by the current survey results, which give the school sports weeks a very good result and prove that they are implemented optimally and thus ensure high-quality sport.
