Wintersteiger Celebrates 1500 Automated Ski Service Machines
The global market leader, Wintersteiger AG based in Upper Austria has placed 1500 automated ski service machines into the market. The company will be celebrating this milestone at ISPO in Munich, where new products from each brand will also be showcased. These include a new version of the Scout automatic ski service station, the Easystore Flex storage system with replaceable fronts, a new clamping system for the workshop, and innovations in boot fitting. Wintersteiger will also be introducing the all new "Bike Service" products in our booth at ISPO.
2019 was once again a very successful business year for Wintersteiger, as business field manager Daniel Steininger confirms: "With an 11% increase in sales compared to the previous year, we were able to achieve record results again in Sports. This demonstrates that our successful journey into automation and digitization is also reflected in the sales figures. Our approach to providing a holistic solution to the rental market is greatly appreciated by our partners, and has helped to generate new customers along the way.”
Scout with three processing modules.
The Scout service machine, which also fits in small workshops due to its compact design, has been a market success: Since its introduction in 2017, more than 100 customers have already invested in this machine, which is equipped with two modules (grinding stone and disc). Together with the Scout sd, Wintersteiger has also developed a 3-module Scout sdp machine. With the addition of the polishing module, the customer can achieve a perfect base edge without any additional hand work. The polishing module is optimally tuned to the disc module and the desired base edge angle can be adjusted easily and precisely.
Flexframe: Change fronts easily.
"Flexframe" is the new system that allows retailers to redesign the appearance of their racks for skis, snowboards, bicycles, and other sports equipment whenever it suits them: Be it summer or winter, an anniversary or a special advertising campaign, the printed fronts can be changed quickly and easily. This opens up many possibilities for the customer in terms of implementing creative marketing ideas.
Innovative clamping system for service shops: Faster than ever.
In terms of workshop accessories, Wintersteiger has developed a universal clamping system for workbenches that can be used to secure all kinds of skis, such as Alpine skis, touring skis, cross country skis, and snowboards. With the "Wintersteiger Quickfix universal", the company promises much faster clamping of skis and snowboards. The clamping jaws for adjusting to the width of skis and snowboards can be easily moved by hand and secured very quickly with the new clamping wheel. In addition to horizontal clamping, the clamping system also allows Alpine skis and touring skis to be held vertically for side edge tuning.
Boot fitting: Greater comfort for end consumers.
A new product in boot fitting is the "Heat Socks Comfort Surround" – these new heat socks keep your feet warm on both the bottom and top of the foot.
Particular care was paid to the fit and ensuring the highest possible level of comfort for the consumer. Compression and a fold-free fit, as well as intelligent cable placement, means pressure points are avoided.
Wintersteiger sells boot fitting products for end consumers under the Bootdoc & Hotronic brands. Wintersteiger is also a full-service supplier in this product segment: From boot fitting seminars and innovative foot analysis methods to foam liners, insoles, Power Fit Socks, heat socks, and sales support, customers receive high-quality products and services from a single source. These brands are being continuously developed and expanded, with new products and fitting devices being presented at ISPO.
Wintersteiger launches "Bike Services".
After a highly successful market test in the years 2018/2019, Wintersteiger is launching its new range of Bike Services. These services include four product groups: "Clean" (complete solutions for efficient bicycle cleaning), "Dry" (hygienic drying of cycle sportswear with the focus on bicycle commuters and cycle-friendly hotels), "Store" (systems for the high-quality storage and parking of bicycles), and "Manage" (software for bicycle rental and services as well as offers for the rental and leasing of bike services).
