Wine Tasting With Schladming-Dachstein Tourist Association

Regionality is one of the central themes in the culinary arts today, and this is increasingly also true for wine. For this reason, 15 winegrowers from Styria met yesterday on the Planai for a joint wine tasting with innkeepers from the region. The Schladming-Dachstein Tourist Association invited guests to the Onkel Willy's Hütte under the title "The Styrian Wine Date - Winegrower Meets Host" in order to lay the foundation for an even closer cooperation between the region and Wein Steiermark with an entertaining kick-off event.

"We have set ourselves the goal of positioning Schladming-Dachstein on the market as a culinary adventure region, and this of course also includes the increased inclusion of excellent Styrian wines in the range of our hotels, restaurants and alpine huts," explains Mathias Schattleitner, Managing Director of Schladming -Dachstein Tourism Marketing GmbH. “Many hosts in our region prepare authentic dishes according to traditional recipes, with the support of local food producers and winemakers. Our loyal guests reward the high-quality offer with more quality, regionality and sustainability.”

Network planned between innkeepers and winegrowers

Andrea Jöbstl-Prattes, Head of Marketing at Steiermark Wein, is very pleased about the Schladming-Dachstein holiday region's commitment to the wine of the Styrian winegrowers: "We are planning to establish a long-term cooperation and a network between landlords and Styrian winegrowers. The aim is to offer guests in the Schladming-Dachstein region wines from Styria and to jointly focus on the topics of origin and regionality.”

Cheese tasting and flying buffet

In any case, the wine tasting was a complete success. Due to the high demand, the number of participating winegrowers had to be limited to 15 under the current circumstances. However, the organizers hope to be able to welcome other innkeepers and winegrowers at the next dates, which are scheduled to take place in autumn this year. In order to underline the regionality, the Schladming-Dachstein gourmet partner Moserhof made its cheese available for tasting at the opening event on the Planai. In addition, the guests were treated to other regional products at a flying buffet at Onkel Willy's Hütte. www.schladming-dachstein.at/kulinarik
