Whitefish Mountain Resort Open For The 2019/20 Season
November delivered three feet of snow at the summit and sustained cold temperatures ideal for snow preservation and snowmaking to assist with kicking off the 72nd season at Whitefish Mountain Resort this Friday, December 6. Guests enjoyed intermediate north side skiing and riding and beginner terrain on the lower mountain. Downloading on Chair 1 was required for those venturing to the summit. Chair 1 opened at 9:30 a.m. with the last upload at 2:30 p.m.
“Opening Day has arrived and once again we are very excited. This season we will welcome more season pass holders than ever before. Their loyalty and support certainly enhance what makes this resort special and somewhat unique these days. In addition to our pass holders, we look forward to our many returning guests and getting acquainted with new ones,” Whitefish Mountain Resort CEO Dan Graves said. “Thanks to a cold November our terrific snowmaking crews worked around the clock to open terrain in time for this Friday. This was made easier with their new snowguns. Additionally, our guests will find a new Parking Status sign at the top of Big Mountain Road when they arrive to direct them to open lots as well as a new Lift Status sign at the bottom of Chair 1.”
“We’d like to remind everyone to ski and ride with care, within their ability levels, and remember early season conditions exist, unmarked obstacles and other natural terrain features may be encountered at any time,” said Keagan Zoellner, Whitefish Mountain Resort ski patrol manager. “Skiers and riders need to respect all closures and safety signage. It’s a long season and we want you to enjoy every day, please do not enter closed trails. Season pass holders who enter inbounds closures risk losing their pass privileges and persons leaving the resort boundary are reminded that you are on your own.”
