Gray Malin x Vail Resorts: Recreating shots from the 60s.
This weekend, Gray will be touring the locations that feature in his Vail fine art photography series as part of the 60th anniversary of Vail. These include giving guests a behind the scenes look at locations such as Eagle's Nest Ice Bar which inspired a vintage apres vibe, and the various chairs which have been used for incredible aerial photos to create stunning vintage vistas of the iconic resort. As Vail continues its season of celebrations to mark 60 years, the Gray Malin series is one not to miss.

Vail Mountain’s 60th Anniversary season is focused on bringing the legendary resort’s vintage Vail emotions to the forefront, and its collaboration with fine art photographer Gray Malin rounds out a sensory experience for guests and fans to relish. Vail Mountain is known for effortless fun and energy around every turn, and that spirit comes to life in Gray Malin’s new vintage inspired photo collection Gray Malin in Vail.

The fine art photography series is the second installment of Gray Malin’s Vail collection, and focuses on recreating classic and inspiring historic photos from the resort. In a modern but vintage aesthetic that is unique to Gray Malin, this series breathes new life into these nostalgic Vail Mountain moments. Diving deep into the Vail Mountain archives for inspiration, Gray Malin produced a fine art series that guests will love.

Gray Malin in Vail transports you to the picturesque mountain scenery of the beloved ski resort through a timeless lens. Featuring vintage fashion from the 1960-1980s, stylish retro gear, and legendary locations including the Back Bowls and Eagle’s Nest, this series is full of après-ski celebrations, snowy adventures, and awe-inspiring views that evoke nostalgia for the alpine lifestyle

“When we connected with Gray Malin about photographing our incredible mountain, we jumped with enthusiasm to collaborate,” said Beth Howard, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Vail Mountain. “Gray’s work elevates some quintessential moments in Vail Mountain’s history and will help us reinvigorate those classic and vintage emotions our guests know and love.”

“I am thrilled to partner with Vail Mountain to celebrate the 60th anniversary by creating a new collection of fine art photography that celebrates the timeless spirit of such a special destination,” said Gray Malin. “Bringing the
mountain’s history to life through my modern lens was such an exhilarating project and I am thrilled to share it with the many people who love Vail.”
