Warren Smith Ski Academy Launches Seasonal Residential Programs For All Ages

The Warren Smith Ski Academy, based in the Swiss resort of Verbier, has launched a seasonal program for skiers with two training courses – Seasonal and Masters. The courses last a minimum of 4 weeks and start from December 5 onwards.

• Seasonal courses launch following Masters program in 2019
• Suitable for all ages, the Seasonal Training Course lasts 4 weeks +
• The Masters Course is designed for more mature skiers
• Available to all levels of skiers with the exception of complete beginner

They provide the chance for skiers looking to do a longer term residential course, the chance to significantly improve their skiing with options to work towards a ski instructor qualification by extending the course to 9 weeks.

There are 4 different levels and whilst the Seasonal Course is designed for any age group, the Masters is aimed at more mature skiers that might prefer to spend time with a like-minded age group.

The different levels are:

• BASIC: Able to make basic parallel turns but use an occasional snowplough to help. Confident to tackle red runs but make technical mistakes on them.
• INTERMEDIATE: Able to make consistent parallel turns on piste. Confident on red runs and able to ski harder terrain (blacks, moguls, powder) but with limited success.
• ADVANCED: Confident parallel skier on all gradient of pistes. Starting to create more dynamic skiing and tackling harder non-pisted terrain.
• INSTRUCTOR: Consistent in all terrain, rarely losing accuracy and pushing speed whilst keeping a high degree of ski performance. Able to transition from piste to off-piste with no hesitations or issues.

Warren Smith said: “The courses are the culmination of 20 years of successfully running academy programs. We have been repeatedly asked if we could offer a multi-week/seasonal training program specifically designed for skiers who have no desire to do the instructor training course but would love to do a season (or the best part of one) and train with us to dramatically take their skiing to a whole new level. The closed group trial program we ran in 2019-20 was a huge success and we’ll be adding this to our regular course calendar from this winter onward”.

Price: from £2,400 per person, including 4 weeks instruction with the Warren Smith Ski Academy. £500 per additional week.

Not included: Travel to Verbier, accommodation, lift pass, insurance, food and drink
