VIP Ski Introduces Four Development Chalets For 18/19
VIP SKI is launching a new concept for the forthcoming winter 2018/2019: Development Chalets. VIP SKI is always looking for ways to improve delivery and has decided to try out innovations and test aspirations in a small group of chalets that each winter will host prototype ideas for the future.
Andy Sturt, Managing Director of VIP SKI; said, “Food and drink is fundamental to what we do and probably our greatest challenge. For the past 25 years we have listened to our ski customers and we know that they they crave innovation. I am keen to improve the quality, consistency, variety and healthiness of our food whilst also concentrating on provenance, waste and animal welfare. This has proved a challenge in the Alps and so for this winter we are moving our development chalet kitchen to Kent (!) ”.
Food at VIP SKI will be powered by COOK in the four development chalets. Ed Perry & Dale Penfold’s founding principal when they created COOK in 1997 was to use the same ingredients and techniques that a good cook would use at home. Today the COOK brand is a household name and their remarkable Kent kitchen provides nutritious food cooked by hand and using only natural ingredients. Best of all, by using innovative blast freezing techniques they have found a way of delivering this to kitchen tables all over the country.
VIP SKI is delighted to be working with Ed, Dale and COOK’s Development Chef, Sarah Jane, who have designed a bespoke VIP SKI chalet menu that will be freshly cooked in Kent, blast frozen and presented by VIP SKI’s hosts at the chalet table in the Alps. VIP SKI is the only catered ski company with the full backing and support of Ed, Dale and the COOK team and this joint venture is a perfect meeting of minds and values.
Chalet hosts will continue to prepare breakfast and afternoon tea but will have more time to concentrate on the important stuff, like chatting to guests, and finding the time to introduce a few new twists like crafting delicious homemade chocolates and blending fresh smoothies for breakfast.
To enhance the experience further, VIP SKI will offer additional treats such as carafe wine direct from the vineyard, Netflix on tap, improved minibars renamed TUCK SHOP with specialist beers and cider, old fashioned coke bottles and Green & Black’s chocs (all at a sensible price) and a few other small but significant embellishments
