USA Ski Jumping Weekend Recap

USA Ski Jumping has given a weekend update.

World Championships. Week One:

The HS102 events at the World Championships in Trondheim, Norway, took center stage this week.

Annika Belshaw and Paige Jones qualified for the Women’s HS102 Individual event and made a statement on the world stage. For the first time in their careers, both advanced to the second round at a World Championship—an incredible milestone. Belshaw finished 18th in the world, while Jones secured 26th. Their success continued in the HS102 Team Event, where the women’s team—Josie Johnson, Sandra Sproch, Annika Belshaw, and Paige Jones— made history with a 7th-place finish—the highest result for a U.S. women’s team at a World Championship!

On the men’s side, all four U.S. athletes—Casey Larson, Kevin Bickner, Erik Belshaw, and Tate Frantz—qualified for the HS102 Individual event. Frantz and Belshaw both advanced to the second round, each setting personal bests at a World Championship. Frantz soared to an impressive 16th-place finish, while Belshaw followed with a strong 25th.

Starting on Wednesday, the athletes shift their focus to the HS138, kicking off with the Mixed Team Event before moving on to the Individual Events for both men and women. The competition will conclude with the Men’s Team Event.
