TRM: New Skiing Fun On The Kaunertal Glacier Thanks To Strong Partners
The Kaunertal Glacier is embedded in an imposing landscape with over 30 three-thousand-meter peaks and, with its 50 kilometers of slopes, offers guaranteed snow from October to May. With the winter season 2021/2022, the new Weißseejochbahn will significantly improve the range of comfortable lifts and new slopes in the glacier ski area. The mountain station of the Weißseejochbahn is located at 3,044 m. The state border between Austria and Italy runs directly on the ridge.
The new Weißseejochbahn sets new standards in the use of resources and the use of new, innovative ideas. The cable car is largely operated using green electricity from PV modules. A resource-saving solution was also used when choosing the pipes installed for the snow lines. Cast iron pipe systems guarantee the best water quality with the highest level of safety, are 100% recyclable, recyclable and are produced regionally.
A total of 2,900 m of ductile iron pipes with diameters from DN80 to DN250 and pressure levels up to PN85 as well as 24 tapping points were laid. Due to the extensive experience in the alpine region as well as the competent support during the entire project duration, TRM was the ideal partner for the successful implementation of the demanding project. The pipes from the Tyrolean manufacturer are particularly characterized by their robustness and durability.
