Treble Cone Opens for Winter 2019
Wanaka’s storied ski area Treble Cone has announced that it will open for skiing and riding from Wednesday July 10th 2019.
Terrain will be limited until snow conditions allow for the entire mountain to be opened. Treble Cone’s longest run, Easy Rider will provide 4kms of fun for those who’ve been waiting for the mountain to open, alongside the platter lift and learner’s area.
Treble Cone’s general manager Toby Arnott said “We know that so many people want to get up here so we’ve been doing everything we can to get the mountain open. Even though it’s not the powder day we’d all like, we hope we’ll see locals and visitors alike come up be stoked on the day. The coffee’s on, the BBQ is on and we’re most definitely open. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported us through this difficult period, especially those whose donations of food and goodwill have been so invaluable in helping our staff”
Current conditions do not allow for guests to enjoy Treble Cone’s renowned off-piste riding and skiing and snowboarding is restricted to Easy Rider and the Platter only.
Treble Cone, the largest ski area in NZ’s South Island, is famous for its long, uncrowded groomed runs, legendary off-piste terrain and unrivalled views over Lake Wanaka and the Southern Alps.
