Tickets On Sale For Third-Annual Fjallraven Classic USA

Fjällräven, the Swedish heritage outdoor brand known for producing high-quality outerwear, apparel and gear since 1960, will open the sale of 325 tickets to the third annual Fjällräven Classic USA on March 14, 2018 at classic.fjallraven.com/usa/. With a sale price of $299, a ticket to the 2018 Fjällräven Classic USA allows a trekker access to an advanced, 34-mile supported adventure through the Colorado Rockies.

"We are excited to bring the Fjällräven Classic back to Colorado for the third year in a row," says Nathan Dopp, president of Fjällräven North America. "The Classic trekking series embodies Fjällräven's spirit. The communal trek is all about spending time in nature with a crew of like-minded people, creating lasting memories on the trail and sharing stories around the campfire. We get excited to introduce fans of Fjallraven to the Swedish trekking tradition in our beautiful backyard."

The 2018 Classic will begin on June 27 in Leadville, Colo., the historic mining town that sits atop the Continental Divide. From there, trekkers will journey for three days and two nights through challenging terrain to the finish line on June 29 at Copper Mountain Resort after carrying everything they need to live in the wilderness, sleeping under the stars and making friendships that transcend the trail. A supported route of checkpoints will provide trekkers with foodstuffs, a Grayl water filter, gas for Primus camping stoves, access to first aid, entertainment and additional assistance. Finishers will be greeted at Copper Mountain with a medal and a finale festival, including music, food, refreshments and Colorado local beer.

Fjällräven introduced the first Classic in Sweden's Lapland in 2005. Since then, the event has grown in scale to where thousands of people from around the world have travel to Sweden for the unique trekking experience. A new Classic was added in Denmark in 2013, bringing the event to the dramatic landscapes of southern Fyn. In 2016, the Classic was brought to the United States to the mountains surrounding Fjällräven North America's headquarters in Colorado. In 2017, Classic Hong Kong was launched.

For many, the Fjällräven Classic is their first experience of long-distance backpacking, while for others it is a staple on their summer bucket list. In 2017, the Classic USA drew participants from 10 countries around the world with close to half of all participants being women. The Fjällräven Classic USA aims to facilitate accessible trekking for everyone and inspire all that attend to continue to discover life in the outdoors and responsibly experience nature.
