Teufelberger-Redaelli Supplies Rope For New Fleckalmbahn In Kitzbuhel

This is the announcement made by the project owner, Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel, with regards to their major project for the 2019/20 season, the new “Fleckalmbahn”, a 10 passenger MGD awarded to Leitner ropeways. For Teufelberger-Redaelli, supplying the respective rope, a Ø 60mm Solitec 6xK41WS construction weighing an astonishing 122 tons, is yet more proof of the validity of the “full integration” approach of the two companies coming together.
In fact, the rope covering a total length of 8,760 meters certainly ranks amongst the longest MGDs in an alpine destination.Ever since the acquisition in 2017, the company has placed major emphasis on utilising the significantly enlarged production opportunities provided by the factory in Gardone Val Trompia, situated in the economic power-house of Northern Italy, Lombardy, in close proximity to well-known Lake Garda. The site is equipped to manufacture hauling/carrying ropes up to the said tonnage, even in one piece, depending on specifications.
This capability represents a major asset to the group and has been eagerly welcomed by the market. OEM representatives have been invited to witness the closing of the ropes, joining Italian and Austrian engineers who meticulously supervise every production job. The group is pursuing two major goals with the establishment of a 2nd production route for its Solitec® ropes in Italy: first and foremost, it makes it possible to actively participate in the market trend for ever longer and heavier ropes featuring larger rope diameters as OEMs continue to push the boundaries of their projects. Secondly yet no less important, the strategy aims at distributing production loads more evenly across the site network and market segments. This makes it possible to level the seasonal peak of ropeway ropes and thereby guarantee the high degree of service for standard deliveries which represents a key requirement for crane OEMs.
By the end of the year, some 30 Solitec ropes with a total tonnage of around 1,000 tons will have come off the production lines to the full satisfaction of customers. Increased customer satisfaction is what Teufelberger-Redaelli strives for every day.
