Tenson uses the following performance fabics:
- MPC EXTREME: Developed to meet the demands of ambitious outdoor athletes and adventurers, it combines extremely effective waterproof properties with exceptional fabric-breathing performance. MPC Extreme is also available in a 3-layer system with stretch characteristics – ideal for activities that require optimum freedom of movement.
- AIRPUSH: AirPush is Tenson’s in-house developed material that delivers superior breathability and comfort wherever you are and whatever you’re doing. Fully recyclable and featuring density that is 20 to 30% higher than conventional materials, its fine pores allow moisture on the inside to be evaporate while at the same time, preventing water permeation from the outside. As well as outstanding water resistance, Air Push was created to be strong yet light and dry faster – so you can get back outside again. This means that it doesn’t stiffen and hinder freedom of movement when the temperature drops.
- DERMIZAX: Dermizax is a waterproof membrane with a highly efficient non-porous structure that delivers maximum breathability. Dermizax excels in durability making it the fabric of choice for Tenson’s most specialized line of products.
MPC Extreme - Maximising The Lifespan Of Fabrics
The 3-layer MPC Extreme Dermizax material is a top performing waterproof fabric used for Tenson’s most specialised lines, featuring a highly efficient waterproof membrane with maximum breathability. It is well known for being one of the most durable fabrics on the market. A regular Tenson MPC garment, depending on the style, fabric and MPC level, could keep its wind-and-waterproofness and breathability for 6-10 years or more, the 3-layer MPC Dermizax can last even longer if it is well taken care of!
“The top of the Ski collection is based around the 3-layer MPC Extreme Dermizax material which is still a key story for us. The palette in ski focuses on darker mutes like dark navy, dark green, dark wine, amber, & classic white, and you’ll recognise some older Tenson prints pushing back through from older collections.” said Catharina Carlander, Design Manager
Tenson’s Outdoor, Ski, Active Sportswear, and Urban Lifefstyle collections have a look that’s sportier than ever. The result is fashion in harmony with great functionality, for people who want to live an exciting, uninhibited life.

3 Layer Ski Wear Top Picks
• For Him: Kailash & Zaskar
• For Her: Kamya & Hima
A clean, minimalistic contemporary Scandinavian look drives the ski collection, which will work just as well if your version of “extreme” is kicking it with the kids at the local bunny hill. Look out for a new and updated MPC 3-layer with full stretch for more comfort than ever, an extended and easy-selling lightweight down programme with patterned baffles, and super on-trend tone-on-tone colourblocking with matt rubber detailing for that sleek, technical look
Apparel With Trans-Category Appeal
Taking the Tenson look from slope to street, run to ramble, or hike to hideaway is essential for anyone who enjoys a variety of outdoor adventures, and likes to do them all with style.
“In Lifestyle, minimalism is key, with our clean lines and reliable handfeel an important selling point. This part of the collection - particularly jackets - feels high tech and sporty, with glued seams and waterproof zips. Our design team calls this look ‘Trans-Category’, and the jackets are designed to do lots of different things. The collection is really interesting & diverse, with new oversized jackets, bigger down panelling and wrinkled-seam bombers making this collection more about fashion & less about basics. Colours are black, dark navy, dark green, wine, brass & dark muted brown. Red is coming back, and there’s plenty of real white for that super clean look” said Carlander,
The Limited Edition Launch of Himalaya Jacket
A sailing champion who arrived at Tenson HQ with an original Himalaya Jacket, has inspired the return of this classic unisex design from the early seventies. The jacket had seen 35 years of use - testament to the "built to last" ethos at the heart of Tenson design! A limited run of individually numbered Limited Edition Himalaya Jackets will be available.
Catharina Carlander, Design Manager concluded “The history and our heritage is what our brand is built on and we carefully try to keep to the company’s origin as much as possible but with updated with modern materials and values. Thanks to his appearance and stories about the life of the jacket we ended up making a special edition replica of the Himalaya, which will be sold in a numbered version from AW18!”
