Telluride’s Peaks Resort & Spa Adds New Assistant General Manager

Telluride Ski Resort has added a new Assistant General Manager, Tobias Rimkus, to the team at The Peaks Resort & Spa with an intent to further improve Telluride’s service, offerings and overall functionality.

Rimkus brings extensive experience and expertise in the hotel industry, most notably, a 15-year position with the St. Regis Hotels and Resorts, with assignments in NY, Miami, Houston and for the last seven years at St. Regis in Aspen. Additionally, he worked with the local community in Aspen on a variety of sales activities, which include promoting the resort as a premier wedding destination, as well as the popular Food & Wine Classic. With specialties in luxury customer service, hotel leadership and sales, Tobias will be looking to employ his experience to push The Peaks to greater success.

“I look forward to supporting the hotel team’s efforts, seeing people around me reach their highest potential, and my wife and I look forward to connecting with and serving the local community,” Rimkus said.

He has set his goal “on further elevating The Peaks and its offering in an entrepreneurial environment,” to ensure his efforts align with the overall vision of Telluride Ski Resort.

As the Assistant General Manager of The Peaks, Rimkus will help manage the operations and its staff, along with improving the hotel’s services and offerings.

The Peaks Resort & Spa is comprised of elegantly designed guest rooms, suites and penthouses that boast spectacular 270-degree Colorado views, a convenient ski-in/ski-out and golf-in/golf-out location, plus a variety of onsite amenities including the Altezza restaurant and bar, and the largest spa in Colorado loaded with 30 treatment rooms, a fitness center, outdoor pool, full-service spa and 42,000 square feet of space.

The resort has recently expanded its meeting space and now features over 10,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event areas, with facilities that include large ballrooms and open spaces.

“We are very excited to welcome Tobias Rimkus to Telluride,” said Rudy Sharp, VP of Hospitality at Telluride Ski & Golf Resort. “His proven leadership abilities, coupled with advanced experience in the hotel industry, will make him a dynamic component of our team.”

Outside of work, Rimkus is a passionate outdoorsman. He has enjoyed road biking for the last 25 years and also has found hobbies in other outdoor pursuits such as alpine skiing, hiking, mountain biking, golfing and gardening. When not outside, Rimkus enjoys reading, spending time with his family (consisting of his wife and three puppies), supporting his wife at her bowling tournaments and traveling. Rimkus is also eager to cross off a major item from his bucket list: heli-skiing in Telluride.

“From the first time my wife and I visited five years ago, we fell in love with Telluride’s uniqueness, the magnificent location and the stunning views,” Rimkus said. “The genuine care my wife and I have experienced in Telluride each year we’ve visited and the longevity of the resort staff have made this an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.”
