2024-2026 ESSERTS-PLANARDS-SAVOLEYRES CONNECTION

The construction project for the new mountain railway system, the Kombibahn, is part of a long-term vision to connect the ski areas of Verbier and Savoleyres-La Tzoumaz, allowing skiers to travel between the two areas without having to take off their skis.

This ambitious project addresses the major challenges related to mobility and improving the customer experience. The main objective of this project is to allow skiers to reach the Les Ruinettes area from Savoleyres-La Tzoumaz without having to take the bus. In the long term, the Les Planards intermediate station will be equipped with an area specifically designed for novice skiers.

The completion of this project is the result of a long and complex process that began in 2011 and was marked by technical, regulatory and environmental challenges. This new facility will make it possible to close the Savoleyres gondola, which was put into service in 1970 and has now earned its retirement, as well as the South ski lift.

2024-2026 A 6-SEAT CHAIRLIFT FOR LAC 2

The Lac 2 chairlift will be replaced by a 6-seater chairlift from the Swiss brand Bartholet AG. Work began in August 2024 with the erection of the mast bases, while commissioning is scheduled for winter 2025/2026. The project will take two years to complete due to the particular constraints of construction work at high altitudes and in particular the demanding environmental conditions in the mountains. Work will be suspended during the winter months, extending the overall duration of the project.

The current installation, located at an altitude of between 2,550 and 2,750 meters, opened in 1988 and transports skiers to the Col de Chassoure with a travel time of over 5 minutes. The transport capacity of the installation is 1,200 people per hour. Although it meets current standards, it was decided to renew the chairlift to improve safety, comfort and the overall experience of our customers. The new chairlift will reduce the travel time to 3 minutes and will be able to transport 1,600 people per hour in the initial phase and 2,000 people per hour later. The new installation will significantly support the flow of visitors.

2025-2027 THE CHAIRLIFT SIX-BLANC

Major investment projects are planned in the Bruson sector to make the ski area even more attractive. A new 6-seater detachable chairlift is scheduled to open in winter 2026-2027, with construction scheduled to begin in 2025. This new installation, approved in accordance with the approved zoning plan for the Téléverbier ski area, will create a link between the end of the Pissevache piste and the summit of the Grand Tsai.

The new chairlift will be able to transport 1,400 people per hour in the initial phase and 1,600 people per hour in the final phase. The installation is provided by the Swiss company Bartholet SA and is identical to the La Pasay installation, with the same seats fitted with protective covers. It allows access to the Sur-le-Six slopes without having to use the Grand Tsai ski lift. This will allow ski resort guests to use the two main axes of the Bruson sector without always having to take the La Pasay chairlift.
