Ted Ligety To Hit The Snow At Solitude
It’s “Ski With Ted Day” at Solitude Mountain Resort for kids in the YMCA’s “Y I Ski” program. Presented by both the YMCA and the National Winter Sports Education Foundation in partnership with Solitude, the event marks the grand finale for kids who participated in the YMCA’s six-week ski program.
The program offered lessons, ski rentals and lift tickets at an approachable price for families, with the goal of helping kids get involved with healthy lifelong activities and make new friends.
“Solitude is committed to introducing snowsports to a diverse group of children, and converting these kids into core skiers or riders,” said Tim Wolfgram, Solitude’s director of snowsports services.
WHO:Ted Ligety, a two-time gold medalist who’s competed in the 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018 Olympics and won multiple season titles in the World Cup.
WHERE: On the snow in front of the Snowsports Academy at Solitude Mountain Resort.
WHEN:Sunday, April 8. Media availability at 11 a.m., followed by a day of skiing with the kids (closed to media).
ABOUT: The YMCA’s six-week “Y I Ski” program included two-hour lessons, rentals and lift tickets every Sunday for five weeks, plus a bonus ski day of rentals and lift tickets for a sixth week.
