TechnoAlpin Installs Fully Automatic Snowmaking In Small Format At Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena In Ehrwald
TechnoAlpin installed one of the smallest fully automatic snow-making systems in the company's history for the 4.3-kilometer cross-country ski run in the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena in Ehrwald. The special thing about it, however, is that it works like a big one. Two TR8 fan guns and an automatic pumping station controlled by a smartphone app.
“For this project, we took large, modern systems that we have already implemented in various ski areas as a model,” explains Matthias Illmer, Managing Director of TechnoAlpin Austria. "With these proven systems, tailor-made, state-of-the-art solutions can also be developed for smaller requirements such as in Ehrwald, where, for example, only two fan guns are in use."
In the cross-country skiing center of the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena, a fully automatic and highly efficient snow-making operation with the highest level of operating convenience for the staff was possible. “We had already made snow on some of the trails in the cross-country center. However, this was only possible with a lot of time and personnel, ”explains Thomas Koch, technical director of the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena. “With the new, fully automatic system, we are more efficient in every respect and, thanks to the control via the MobileAPP, we have everything under control in a relaxed manner and regardless of location.”
Many tasks such as checking the current weather conditions or starting and stopping the system can be carried out remotely . "In the meantime we have also installed a camera with which we can follow on the smartphone how the situation on site is developing", Thomas Koch is happy. "That makes us 100 percent flexible and independent of location."
