Sunkid At Interalpin: Year-round Portfolio “From A Single Source” – With Two Premieres

Development competence for year-round leisure concepts, cutting-edge conveyor technologies, innovative further developments, and premieres in “summer tobogganing” and “Family Rides” – Sunkid, the world’s leading year-round provider of leisure attractions for the entire family, presents all of this “from a single source” at Interalpin 2023 (Innsbruck, 19 – 21 April).

  • World premiere: Mountain Coaster 2.0
  • Zauberteppich® – ongoing innovation
  • Wood’n’Fun – a year-round attraction
  • Overall plans with Sunny Stuff, Sunline, …
  • European premiere: Loopster 2.0 (re-launch)

World premiere: Mountain Coaster 2.0 (stand A25)

The Sunkid World celebrated the introduction of the Mountain Coaster as the latest product at its last Interalpin to date, back in 2019. A monorail system that had proven its worth for many years, with simple maintenance as well as quick setup and disassembly, convinced many a customer, leading to the construction of a large number of new facilities around the world since.

2023 is now going to see the trade fair premiere of the Mountain Coaster 2.0 – developed for fun and action in any weather and any season. It has modernised its design and is opening an entirely new chapter for “summer tobogganing”, in particular in the areas of comfort and safety through smart assistance systems.

The toboggan shell is offering a sneak peek at the rapid athletic riding behaviour of the Sunkid Mountain Coaster 2.0. LED spotlights and backlights as well as an optional backpack holder on a backrest that can be folded down with a simple mechanism have been added. The basic design with redefined logo areas also permits many different individual customer themes.

The available space, in particular when an adult is riding together with a child (up to 12 years old), has been increased greatly. An ergonomically shaped backrest (with seat cushion) and toboggan shell form a “dynamic unit”, increasing sitting comfort with two possible footrest settings (and a footrest that has also been widened for bulky (skiing) shoes).

A newly integrated smart assistance and brake system increases safety by actively controlling speed and distance between the toboggans.

On top of all the innovations around the passenger, simple handling of the light-weight toboggan continues to be warranted for the operator and the staff, enabling new customers to often continue using their pre-existing “uphill infrastructure” – be it a T-bar lift, chairlift, or gondola, in a cost-efficient manner.

The first “Mountain Coaster 2.0” customer project is going to be set up in Trysil, Norway, in the summer of 2023. Potential buyers can try sitting in the new Coaster for the first time at Interalpin, explore the precise functions of the new brake and assistance systems, and talk about customised solutions with the Sunkid project management.

Zauberteppich® – ongoing innovation (stand A25 and Skywalk)

Since the Moving Carpet was first introduced as a modern skiing conveyor belt back in 1996, Sunkid has been a driving force of innovation on this market. Project-related coordination of our system (capacity, output, equipment, custom design), various options to be combined (two belt surfaces, four belt widths, three gallery versions), easy maintenance and assembly, as well as our market leadership (+ 3,900 facilities), keep us the first point of contact for customers looking for person conveyor belts anywhere in the world.

As development of summer attraction keeps increasing in importance for many tourist regions and mountain railways, the application areas of Sunkid’s Moving Carpet continue to grow throughout the year. In addition to the bike parks that are being opened in many locations, this specifically refers to leisure offerings that Sunkid can also supply from its broad product range – such as summer tubing on dry slopes or conveyor belts to carry tubes or rafts in water parks or along artificial white-water channels (kayaking/rafting).

With its new Type N conveyor belt generation – exhibited at stand A25 – Sunkid is setting the current standard in the area of modern person transport. The latest product generation combines best quality with optimal use of resources and greatest user friendliness. The integrated switchgear (i-CONTROL®) further adds a new usability concept while setting standards in terms of maintenance and operation of the system. The Type N also complies with all current authority requirements anywhere in the world.

The core of the Type N is its new electrical i-CONTROL® control unit, now serially used in all facilities. The operating system illustrates the current operating status in a well-structured manner, guiding the user simply through all functions. Key features include:

  • Multi-touch-HMI (display) with all relevant information for operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Four different password-protected user groups, each with a defined release of functions
  • Remote access to the electrical control for the customer and manufacturer (for extended customer support)
  • Regular reports by email regarding the most important operating data (such as utilisation, etc.) to different recipients (customer or manufacturer)

The new Type N conveyor belt generation was first presented to the public at the Mountain Planet trade fair in Grenoble last year. Many customer projects have been implemented since.

In addition to the conveyor belt exhibited at the Interalpin trade fair stand A25 (Type N), another Sunkid facility is acting as a walking conveyor belt (Skywalk), to shorten distances for trade fair visitors, proving the multifunctional usability of the conveyor belt technology.

Wood’n’Fun – a year-round attraction (stand A25 and FGW5)

Sunkid has been supporting tourism and leisure destinations around the world with innovative solutions and sustainable products for more than 25 years. The “Wood’n’Fun” product group represents active adventures and relaxed moments in nature alike – with playground equipment, seats, and themed paths and worlds of experience fully customised to the client’s wishes and made of Austrian larch wood. There are no limits to individual theming here.

The Skicirkus Saalbach-Hinterglemm is joining a long list of renowned customers for Wood’n’Fun wood letterings or large customised playing areas, which already includes names such as Kitzbühel (“Streif”), Sölden (“Almzeit”), or Prato Nevoso (“La Rossa”). A number of Wood’n’Fun projects are being implemented here within the scope of rendering summer activities more attractive (among other things by adding themed paths, playing and experience worlds)

The “LÄSSIG” script for the playing area focusing on the new artificial lake at the Reiterkogelbahn (Hinterglemm) and implemented together with Sunkid will be exhibited at Interalpin (area: FGW5). Sunkid is also going to supply a motor skills route, slide tower, giant Archimedes’ screw, and a water playground for the area by the time of its completion in the summer of 2023 – all from a single source.

The main Sunkid stand (A25) has a wooden ball track tower inviting young visitors to play and think – about where their balls routed through tracks, tubes, loops, spirals, etc. are most likely to end up in the end. While the sale of wooden balls is a lucrative little extra business for some operators of this kind of playing equipment, the Sunkid balls can be taken home as souvenirs of Interalpin 2023.

Overall plannings with Sunny Stuff, Sunline, … (stand A25 and FGW5)

Panorama playgrounds, interactive sled runs, fun slopes – many customers of Sunkid are expanding their winter attraction offerings for families with children beyond the traditional skiing and children’s skiing areas as well. Sunkid is a reliable partner for these, from planning and visualisation to assembly, approval, and servicing.

The product line of the “Sunny Stuff” ski school aids turns learning into an experience. The complete offering spans everything from safety equipment and markings such as custom toucans and or entrance arches, to “Teach & Learn” products like snow plough aids, to obstacles for tomorrow’s freestyle athletes.

Whether with “Snow Animals”, “Monsters”, the “Troll Family”, or designed to match the respective local mascot – Sunkid equipment can cater to any customer wish in terms of designing snow experience worlds, including slalom courses and interactive figures.

Making sure that not only the young snow athletes will get their money’s worth, Sunline route designs and specifically developed resilient interaction elements (Sound High Five, Sunline Rainbow Bridge, etc.) offer fun and action for all guests.

Learn about our product range and current projects from our website before coming to the Interalpin fair. The children’s area initiated together by the tourism association, mountain railways, and ski school in Wildschönau (Austria) and the newly opened ski school and snow fun park in Molveno (Italy) are some examples here.

European premiere: Loopster 2.0 (re-launch) (stand A25)

The popular interactive “Loopster” family ride by Sunkid is given a modern facelift: the technically and visually revised concept of the Loopster cabins was presented at DEAL Dubai in March already, raising great interest

Its digital European premiere is going to follow in Innsbruck, with the Sunkid product management inviting everyone interested to view the details of development together and to discuss both general and customer-specific solutions and adaptations. Work on the future of the Loopster 2.0 with us!

Visit Sunkid: stand, events, and excursion

In addition to cordially welcoming all customers and interested persons with the dedicated “Sunny Beer” and little snacks at Sunkid’s main stand (A25), Product experts are going to remain available to Interalpin guests at all of our exhibits (FGW5 and Skywalk) throughout.

International visitors, first and foremost among them skiing area operators and project developers, can talk to Sunkid in person on the day before the trade fair commences (18 April) already in the scope of the “B2B cooperation platform”.
