Sunday River To Ring In Spring With Events, Concerts
Ample sunshine, soft snow, and fun events is what makes spring in Maine so special. Sunday River has a host of exciting activities planned for the spring. Enjoy the warmer weather and spring conditions on the slopes before joining us at new events like Craft Beer Weekend, as well as tried-and-true favorites returning this season like Spring Fest and Pond-a-Palooza.
The schedule is as follows:
March 25-27: Craft Beer Weekend
A new event this year, Craft Beer Weekend kicks off the launch of the Western Maine Brew Passport, a physical passport designed to encourage beer-lovers to visit local breweries and restaurants serving the best craft beer in Maine. Participants can earn stamps for visiting locations and trying assorted styles of Maine beer, which can be redeemed for prizes. Expect to see lots of beer specials this weekend, as well as suggested beer-food pairings.
March 26: Spring Après Concert Series #1
Enjoy live music from Dave Gutter, lead singer from the Rustic Overtones, as well as tunes from alternative rock band Hello Newman slopeside at South Ridge from 2-5PM.
April 1-3: Spring Fest
A favorite event is back, just in time to celebrate the warmer weather and corn snow. Expect live music, spring skiing and riding, food and beverage specials, and more.
April 9: Pond-a-Palooza
After a 2-year pandemic-inflicted hiatus, the annual pond skimming contest makes its triumphant return. Up to 100 participants can register for free the day of the event at the Welcome Center at South Ridge Lodge. Judges base their decision on costume choice and skiing ability—so come suited up and ready to ski, or swim.
April 9: Spring Après Concert Series #2
The final spring concert of the season, join us at South Ridge for good times and good tunes from psychedelic rock band Sal Johnson & the Crowded Table from 2-5PM.
April 10: Passholder Appreciation Day
To say thank you for a safe and fun winter on the slopes, we're celebrating our most loyal guests with Passholder Appreciation Day. Passholders can check out the end of season sale at Sunday River Sports flagship location at South Ridge, running from 7:30AM-5PM. The sale includes exclusive discounts for 21/22 and 22/23 New England Passholders, with up to 50% off select 2022 skis, snowboards, bindings, apparel, and more. Also on April 10 is our annual passholder lunch, running from 11AM-1PM at South Ridge.
April 16: The Great Tailgate
Delicious food, parking lot games, goggle tans, and spring skiing will take over Sunday River’s Barker Mountain lot for The Great Tailgate. This year’s theme, Caribbean Christmas, encourages tailgaters to come dressed in their best island vacation attire while donning an iconic Santa hat.
April 24: $0 Tickets on Closing Day
Closing day at Sunday River offers free skiing and riding for all on Barker Mountain. Tickets must be reserved online in advance and there is no cost to guests.
