Sun Peaks Resort Donates $10,000 To Kamloops Food Bank, Postpones High Five Day Until April 2020,
After much consideration, Sun Peaks Resort has decided to hold its bi-annual High Five Day event in April, as part of late season celebratory events. As previously announced, the resort had to make the difficult decision to postpone this December’s High Five Day and has been unable to reschedule the event prior to the holiday season, due to weather.
“April has traditionally served up great spring skiing and atmosphere with a solid snow base and plenty of terrain open and we’re confident that the re-scheduled High Five Day will be a fantastic one on the slopes,” explains Aidan Kelly, Chief Marketing Officer with Sun Peaks Resort.
The specific date will be announced early in the new year once the spring events schedule is confirmed.
In lieu of the funds that are usually raised on High Five Day, Sun Peaks Resort is pleased to announce that a donation of $10,000 will be made to the Kamloops Food Bank in the coming days.
“The Kamloops Food Bank is an important community organization that we’ve been supporting for many years, and we want to ensure that local residents still benefit from the funds typically raised on High Five Day during the upcoming holiday season,” says Kelly.
In addition to a $10,000 donation, Sun Peaks Resort will be holding a weekend-long food drive from Friday, December 20th through Sunday, December 22nd, in efforts to support the immediate needs of the Food Bank for non-perishable food donations.
Non-perishable food items can be dropped off at Guest Services, located in the Village Day Lodge, from 8:00am to 6:00pm, December 20 to 22.
