Sud Tirol’s Hotel Quelle Launches Stylish Serviced Apartments With Access To Award-Winning Nature Spa Full Facilities
Hotel Quelle is delighted to announce the opening of Chalet Salena, a new stand-alone chalet comprising seven two and three-bedroom serviced apartments, situated in the hamlet of Santa Magdalena in South Tyrol, Italy, a three minute drive from the hotel.
The vision of father & daughter team, Eric and Sarah Steinmair – owners of the award-winning five star family friendly Hotel Quelle – Chalet Salena is designed to meet the growing demand for added privacy and exclusivity from Hotel Quelle’s loyal guests. The luxurious serviced apartments are aimed at those who want the freedom of staying in their own private apartment but who also want access to all the services and facilities of a five star hotel & spa.
Taking full advantage of its location and the striking mountain views of the Gsieser Valley, Chalet Salena pulls heavily on local influences in both design and function. Using only local reclaimed and recycled wood, Chalet Salena is clad in Stone Pine or ‘Zirbe’ as it is locally known, in keeping with traditional homes in the village. This is off-set by a sleek steel frame-work, floor to ceiling glass windows and generous terraces offering a contemporary twist to this new chalet. Both attractive and environmentally friendly, Zirbe is also known for its strong aromatic scent and healing qualities – it has antibacterial properties and offers a natural protection against moths and insects. Zirbe is used internally as well where the wood has been flamed to create a darker finish and cooler effect.
Chalet Salena offers six two-bedroomed apartments and one three-bedroomed Penthouse Spa Suite ranging in size from 79m² to 126m² with terraces from 25m² to 105m². The two bedroom apartments each feature two double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a full-service kitchen, separate dining and living areas, a guest loo, terrace with stunning mountain views and its own private sauna and whirlpool. Many of the apartments include freestanding bathtubs with stunning views.
The Penthouse Spa Suite sleeps up to six people in two master en-suite bedrooms and a bunk bed room for two. There is also a huge panoramic wrap-around terrace with swimming pool, outdoor shower, Jacuzzi, and sauna.
With a focus on local craftsmanship as well as materials, Chalet Salena’s pared back interiors draw attention to singular pieces of art & craft cleverly lit by clusters of hanging lights. Wall-mounted stag’s heads and black lacquered antlers adorn the Zirbe walls, feathered silk fabrics act as feature walls, and rich velvet graces the headboard of custom-made circular beds. Each bedroom features star-scape ceilings above the beds, visible only in the pitch black of night.
