Success For The Second Edition Of The Dachstein Run: More Than 750 Nordic Athletes Were At The Start In Ramsau
Even after the second edition of the Dachstein Run, which was redesigned last year, the organizers can draw a very satisfactory conclusion:
The unique major event for Nordic athletes attracted more than 750 participants from all over the world to Ramsau over the weekend. This time, too, there was a lot of sporting action in various disciplines on the program, including two 40-kilometer runs in skating and classic across the entire Ramsau Plateau, a team competition in skating, children's races and a culinary gourmet run. "It was a great weekend with a great atmosphere among all participants and spectators. The success of the reorientation of the event as a 'people's cross-country ski' last year was confirmed again this year. “Ramsau has once again presented itself as the perfect venue for major sporting events in Nordic skiing,” said a delighted Franz Eisl, second chairman of the TVB Schladming-Dachstein, which acted as organizer together with the WSV Ramsau.
Participants from 22 nations and of all ages at the start The athletes came from 22 nations, including Norway, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Poland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Great Britain and Australia, to the Styrian tourist region and, of course, also ensured many overnight stays with their supervisors and families.
An analysis of the list of participants also shows that practically all age groups were represented in Ramsau. In addition to many children in the Kids Race and young athletes in the skating and classic competitions, there were even a few participants over the age of 70.
All information and results for the individual disciplines are available online at www.dachsteinlauf.at . The third edition of the Dachstein Run has also already been confirmed and will take place from January 9th to 11th, 2026.
