Daniel Ziegler, Head of Technology, leaves Seilbahnen Schweiz
After two years, Daniel Ziegler, Head of Technology at Swiss Cable Cars, is leaving to take on a new challenge in the canton of Aargau. Daniel Ziegler quickly settled into his role as Head of Technology and oversaw important projects such as energy measures during the power shortage and the industry solution for maintenance work during operations. He made an important contribution to the directive on the expansion of ski areas, and he also reorganized the technical roadshows, which improved communication within the industry.
Bruno Riesen, new Managing Director at Bergbahnen Engstligenalp AG
After four years of managing the company, Dominik Honegger handed over business responsibility to his successor on May 1, 2024. Bruno Riesen has been working for the Engstligenalp cable cars since July 2022. His previous responsibilities included managing the Fondue Igloo Restaurant, working in the railway operations and service of the mountain restaurant, and implementing various IT projects.
In addition to his technical training as a mechanical engineer and the license he later acquired as a restaurant owner, he also brings with him a wealth of management and specialist experience in various fields from his many years of work in the management of an airport service provider.
Vail Resorts: New tasks for Mike Goar, Pete Petrovski and Ignaz Zopp
Following the acquisition of the Crans-Montana ski resort from Vail Resorts in May 2024, Mike Goar will lead all Vail Resorts activities in Switzerland as Chief Operating Officer Switzerland. The day-to-day operations of the Crans-Montana Mountain Resort will be managed by Pete Petrovski, who has been appointed Managing Director of the resort, prior to the start of the 2024/25 winter season and will report directly to Mike Goar. Ignaz Zopp, meanwhile, has been appointed Managing Director of Andermatt-Sedrun to support Goar's role.
Martin Deburaux new director of Télé Villars-Gryon-Les Diablerets SA and ARMAV
A passionate supporter of the region, Martin Deburaux enthusiastically took over the management of one of the ski schools in Villars in 2007. He wanted to make new discoveries and develop a project in the tourism and hotel and catering sectors. He then managed two establishments in the idyllic setting of Solalex. The opportunity to combine his passion for skiing and the mountains with modern tourism development projects for the Télé Villars-Gryon-Les Diablerets SA cable cars convinced him to commit himself to this company, its employees, customers and the region. In addition to managing Télé Villars-Gryon-Les Diablerets SA, he also took over the presidency and management of the Association des Remontées Mécaniques des Alpes Vaudoises from Christian Dubois.
New mountain lifts director in Grüsch-Danusa
Dennis Ehinger took up the position of director at Bergbahnen Grüsch-Danusa AG on August 1st. He replaces the previous incumbent Andri Schmellentin, who will leave the company on September 30th, 2024 after two years. Dennis Ehinger has a Bachelor of Science FHGR in Business Administration - Sports Management. The 32-year-old Ehinger has previously worked as a project manager and as CEO assistant and was responsible for quality assurance. There is another personnel change to report in the technology department at Bergbahnen Grüsch-Danusa: Tobia Siorpaes has been working as Technical Director since May 1st.
Marianne Pfändler becomes Managing Director of Kastenbahn
Marianne Pfändler will be the Managing Director of Hoher Kasten Drehrestaurant und Seilbahn AG from October 1, 2024. She has been with the company since 2002 and has held various positions. In 2010, she was promoted to Head of Administration and Marketing and held these positions until 2015. After a nine-year break, she returns to take over the management. With her many years of experience in management positions and a solid education, including a postgraduate degree in business administration, she is well prepared for this new challenge.
Change of management at the Brigels cable cars and the Pradas Resort
After ten years, the long-standing, successful CEO of the Brigels cable cars, Beat Zenklusen, will hand over the baton to Ivo Maissen on October 1, 2024. Under Beat Zenklusen's leadership, the Brigels cable cars and the Pradas Resort have developed into a strong year-round family destination.
Ivo Maissen has ten years of CEO experience in software development and during this time he led a market leader in the field of medical software. Before his time in the healthcare sector, Ivo Maissen worked in several roles in the finance and insurance industry. Ivo Maissen lives in Disentis with his wife and three children.
