Staff Changes At German Ski Fed'

After the head coach's retreat at the DSV partner hotel Pletzer Resort, Hopfgarten, the German Ski Association will start preparing for the 2024/25 World Cup winter. In addition to various structural changes, the DSV sports management also announced some other personnel changes in the respective disciplines. Here is an overview of the most important changes.

WOMEN'S SKI JUMPING

Heinz Kuttin new national coach

Heinz Kuttin will take over the national team of DSV ski jumpers as the responsible national coach at the start of the 2024/25 season. The Austrian is switching from Nordic combined to special jump within the German Ski Association.

“I’m really looking forward to the new task,” says Heinz Kuttin. “Looking forward, it is important to continuously develop young athletes with the right methodology and strategy. We want to be successful from the young generation right up to the top of the world. A special focus is of course on the national team, here we want to show good performances in the World Cup year and fight for the medals at the Nordic World Championships in Trondheim."

Thomas Juffinger, who led the women's team on an interim basis through the last World Cup season, will resume his traditional role as assistant coach.

“Heinz Kuttin did a very good job in the Nordic Combined for four years and was looking for a change to some extent. He can look back on an enormous wealth of experience and a very successful CV as a ski jumping coach. He will now bring all his know-how to the women's team, and we are really looking forward to this new constellation."

SKI JUMPING MEN

Michal Doležal is leaving the coaching team

Coach Michal Doležal, who has strengthened the team since 2021 with Stefan Horngacher (national coach), Andreas Mitter and Paul Winter, will leave the DSV at the end of the season at his own request. Who will follow Michal Doležal will be decided in the next few weeks.

NORDIC COMBINATION MEN

Kreiselmeyer strengthens the coaching team

Constantin Kreiselmeyer, who has previously led the perspective squad, will strengthen the coaching team of the World Cup team alongside Eric Frenzel and Kai Bracht from the coming season.

Constantin Kreiselmeyer: said “After six years as head coach of the combined men’s B squad, I also see this new challenge as an appreciation for my previous work. During this period I was able to prepare many of the current top athletes for the World Cup team. I'm really looking forward to contributing my energy and knowledge at the highest level.

Eric Frenzel added “With Constantin Kreiselmeyer we have a new trainer colleague on board who has very high professional and social skills. In addition, we now have an even stronger staff at our main training base in Oberstdorf. My assistant coach Kai Bracht and I are really looking forward to the exchange and the new impulses. We would all like to thank Heinz Kuttin very much and we wish him much success in his new task.”

ALPINE WOMEN

Karlheinz Pichler is the new speed coach

Karlheinz Pichler is the new downhill and super-G discipline coach in the DSV women’s team. The 54-year-old Tyrolean replaces Andreas Fürbeck.

Karlheinz “Charly” Pichler began his coaching career at the ÖSV in various positions, including being the responsible coach of the women's speed team from 2011. In 2017 he moved to Liechtenstein as women's head coach, where he looked after Tina Weirather. From 2019, Pichler was responsible for the men's speed as lead trainer in Sweden, before taking over the women's giant slalom group in the ÖSV in 2022.

Karlheinz Pichler said  “I’m really looking forward to my new role in the German Ski Association. Together with my coaching colleagues, our goal is to build a speed team around Kira Weidle and Emma Aicher. We also want to raise the level of giant slalom and bring young athletes to the top.”
