St Moritz Highlights Summer Events

It is the events, the people, and the natural setting, the stories, traditions, and contrasts that make St. Moritz what it is – a place where all are welcome, a place that has something special in store for everybody.

For amateur and professional athletes

  • High Altitude Training Base: Situated at 1,856 metres a.s.l., St. Moritz is an ideal location for high-altitude training. It is a favourite destination for endurance athletes who come here from all over the world for their training camp. It is the official high altitude training base of Swiss Olympic; national professional athletes with the Swiss Olympic Card can use all the infrastructure and services in and around St. Moritz.
  • St. Moritz Running Festival: A wide selection of routes for every type of runner, a festival village in St. Moritz Bad, and a diversified support programme are all features of the alpine running event for young and old, from 9 to 11 August 2024.
  • Health and Longevity Forum St. Moritz: The first edition of the conference, running from 19 to 22 September at Suvretta House, will focus on a holistic approach to health and longevity. International keynote speakers – including U.S. researcher and best-selling author Dan Buettner (The Blue Zones) – will present the latest research into the genetics of ageing and holistic well-being. Culinary delights from triple-Michelin-star chefs will be a tempting complement to the programme.

For art and culture enthusiasts

  • “Splendur e sumbriva – Light and shadow in the Engadin”: the St. Moritz cultural centres Design Gallery, Dokumentationsbibliothek St. Moritz, Forum Paracelsus, Mili Weber Museum, Berry Museum, Engiadinais Museum, and Segantini Museum are teaming up with other Engadin institutions for a joint exhibition dedicated to phenomena of light in the Engadin. From 15 June 2024 to 18 April 2025, these legendary light effects and their associated shadows will be explored in art and architecture, language and philosophy, mountaineering and everyday culture.
  • Kurkonzerte – “Music Mondaine”: From 23 June to 15 September 2024, the more-than-a-century-old tradition of morning concerts will surprise and delight with a new concept: a colourful mix ranging from classical works to swing and pop-up events in unexpected locations. The concerts take place Wednesday to Sunday at 11AM every week at Vic’s Bar in the Hotel Reine Victoria.
  • Open Doors Engadin: The weekend dedicated to the architecture experience will take place on 29 and 30 June 2024 with the motto “Architecture for all”. The third edition will provide insights and a glimpse inside over eighty selected buildings from many different eras, from the Italian mountain village of Castasegna near the Swiss border across the entire Upper Engadin to the village of S-chanf.
  • Festival da Jazz: The traditional music festival, now in its 17th edition, brings stars and fans from all over the world to St. Moritz from 4 to 28 July 2024 for club concerts and outdoor events on Lake Lej da Staz or in the Taiswald of Pontresina.
  • La Milanesiana: The travelling Italian cultural festival will be making its first appearance in St. Moritz on 9 August 2024 for the grand finale of its 25th anniversary edition in the theatre of the Hotel Reine Victoria. This makes St. Moritz the only festival location outside of Italy. A riveting talk by the French philosopher Bernard-Henri Lévy will be followed by a rousing concert with Ran Remo Festival winner Raphael Gualazzi (piano & vocals).
  • St. Moritz Art Film Festival (SMAFF): Titled “Meanwhile Histories”, the third edition of the cultural festival will bring together national and international filmmakers and film lovers in the Engadin from 12 to 15 September 2024.

For St. Moritz connoisseurs

  • St. Moritz fashion by Lamarel and Ripa Ripa: limited-edition streetwear and swimwear collections inspired by St. Moritz are available exclusively at the St. Moritz Info Point on Via Maistra 12.
  • St. Moritz Country Summer Polo Cup: Six international teams will compete at this low-goal summer tournament on the San Gian equestrian sports field from 26 to 28 July 2024, featuring over eighty polo horses. The event will be capped off with a polo class led by a professional player.

For vintage and classic car afficionados

  • British Classic Car Meeting St. Moritz (BCCM): Since 1994, over one hundred British classic cars have met in St. Moritz for drives, rallies, and the Concours d’Élégance. The 30th anniversary edition, 4–7 July 2024, will be held under the motto “Safari”.
  • Passione Engadina: From 23 to 25 August 2024, classic Italian cars built before 1995 will compete in special stages and brave legendary mountain passes in and around St. Moritz.
