Solitude To Open Two New Terrain Parks

The summer season has wrapped and the fall colors are fully sending.  Solitude is rapidly switching gears to prep the mountain for our 22/23 winter season during which they will introduce not just one but two terrain parks. Take a peek behind the scenes with the terrain park team as they discuss boxes, rails, and introducing parks to Solitude. Before we discuss winter, let’s put some finishing touches on summer. Solitude had a fantastic summer season with many new opportunities for mountain fun. They increased days of operation and lift service, introduced new mountain bike trails, and offered bike lessons for the first time. Additionally, they connected the Moonbeam and Village base areas with a new paved walking path. Speaking of the Village, Solitude improved the landscaping and installed a playground that was an immediate hit with the kids. The new Adventure Park was also loads of fun, offering a climbing wall and bungee trampoline bounce. The traditional Summer Fest was bigger than ever, and we hosted an amazing Big Cottonwood Winter Welcome Party to close out one season and slide into another.

They say "Thank you to the staff, owners, and visitors for making Solitude a top destination for summer fun."

Now, back to winter — and those terrain parks. The parks will consist of small and medium features, including boxes, rails, and jumps for different skills levels. One will be located in the gentle flats of upper Main Street and the other on the more steeply graded North Star. The Main Street park will open first for you to jib on early season. This park will be perfect for beginners and young riders. The North Star park will open after natural snow arrives, and offer more challenging opportunities for more skilled riders.

New terrain park features

New this winter will be our Coca-Cola food truck, featuring sidewinder fries loaded with delicious toppings. Look for this mobile truck near Eagle lift and other places around the mountain, both on and off the snow.

Opening day is scheduled for Friday, November 18.
