Sölden MD Jakob Falkner Awarded The Medal Of Honour Of The State Of Tyrol

Recently, eleven outstanding personalities were honored with the Tyrolean Medal of Honor for their special services – including Jakob Falkner, Managing Director of the Sölden cable cars.

This award recognizes his outstanding commitment and tireless efforts to the further development of the Sölden cable cars and the entire region. His visionary leadership style and passion have played a key role in establishing Sölden as a first-class destination.

The Medal of Honour of the State of Tyrol was awarded to:

  • Jakob Falkner, Managing Director of the Sölden cable cars
  • Martha Schultz, Managing Director of the Schultz Group
  • Bruni Fröschl, Managing Director of Fröschl AG & Co KG
  • Manfred Duringer, Honorary Chairman of the Tyrol Choral Association
  • Sabine Gruber, writer
  • Hansjörg Hofer, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Salzburg
  • Günther Lieder, former President of the Israelite Religious Community for Tyrol and Vorarlberg
  • Florian Mussner, former Ladin State Councillor of the South Tyrolean State Government
  • Hermann Petz, former Chairman of the Board of Moser Holding
  • Herbert Pixner, musician, composer and music producer
  • Elisabeth Rathgeb, Director of Caritas of the Diocese of Innsbruck

Whether they were active in business, journalism, culture, the social field or the religious sector - they all made a decisive contribution to Tyrol's progress," said Governor Mattle to the new recipients of the medal of honour

South Tyrol's governor Arno Kompatscher emphasised at the ceremony in the Hofburg: " This commitment to culture and tradition as well as to the business location, the commitment to our unifying values ​​and the active assistance for the weaker members of our society create community and cohesion. These outstanding personalities from North, East and South Tyrol are shining examples for us. They all deserve our sincere thanks. We are proud of them!"
