Snowshoe: What's New For 2019/2020. Good Things To Look Forward To This Season!
During the off-season, Snowshoe team has been working to deliver several exciting new enhancements to the Sugar Bowl experience. Below are some of the new and exciting features you can expect for the 2019/2020 season!
Hotel Renovations
All of the slopeside Mountain View rooms in the Sugar Bowl hotel have been renovated and revamped with updated furniture, paint, carpeting, lighting and window and door treatments. The design for the rooms will have a mountain modern feel with a nod to Tyrol influences.
The remodel is ongoing and slated to be completed in late November. We are currently accepting reservations for winter and offering great deals on slopeside lodging in the iconic Sugar Bowl Hotel.
Mid-Mountain Lodge Remodel
Mid-Mountain Lodge located at the base of Christmas Tree Express and Mt. Lincoln Express lifts is currently getting a remodel and makeover. Celebrating the rich history of Sugar Bowl and our Tyrolean influences, renovations to the serving and seating areas will feature a contemporary take on a traditional Austrian ski lodge. You can also expect to see a new outdoor BBQ and fresh menu.
Terrain Parks
A new top to bottom terrain park with 21 new terrain park features as well as a 13-foot mini-pipe will be installed off of the Judah lift on Coldstream. This new enhanced park will include extra small, small, medium and large features to accommodate riding for everyone. You can expect to see new features such as the 13-foot butter box, 20-foot chubbie box, 10-foot quarterpipe box and 10-foot wallride.
Snowmaking Upgrades
The resort is continuing the investment of the multi-year snowmaking system upgrade and building on the progress that was spent last year that allowed double the water pumping capacity &reduced both the energy consumption & the time it takes to cover snowmaking terrain by two-thirds. Improvements will allow them to maximize early season snowmaking efforts to build a strong base and ensure high quality conditions all season long.
Lift Safety Improvements
Smnowshoe takes safety seriously and take pride in their KIDS ON LIFT safety initiative. In doing so they have invested heavily into chairlift improvements which include new drop posts on White Pine, Christmas Tree and Nob Hill lifts. These new drop posts help reduce the chances of small children sliding under the restraint bar.
Covered Surface Lift
They have replaced the Flume Surface Lift on the Judah side of the resort with a brand new, 240-foot covered surface lift. Designed to protect beginner skiers and riders from the elements, the new lift will offer a positive first experience. The cover allows the carpet to operate during storms and re-open quickly following large storms.
New Parking Shuttles
Two new buses have been added to assist with parking & local transportation. The shuttle buses will provide convenient transport from the parking lots to the lodge. The shuttles will also be used for employee transport on big snow days supporting the resort’s commitment to open the resort no matter how much snow falls.
