Snowboarders Kick Off Winter Season At The Hintertux Park Opening 2022
The Hintertux Park Opening is the very first Opening of the season and went successfully down last weekend from September 30th – October 3rd at Hintertux glacier. Riders were so hyped to be back on their snowboards, that they didn’t care much that the weather wasn’t on their side this weekend. Betterpark Hintertux was the place to be with many riders showing up to ride the perfectly prepared setup. Best conditions for the first days back on snow. Winter returned just in time with fresh snow last week to stoke riders with some powder runs. A perfect start into the new season!
GOING BIG – Zillertal local Werni Stock hosted Werni’s Big Air Session by Quiksilver at Betterpark Hintertux. On Saturday morning weather and wind conditions allowed the jam session to happen on the big jump. The international field of riders like Halldor Helgason, Mons Roisland and Stale Sandbech, provided many wow-moments. Outstanding rider of the was Norwegian Torgeir Bergrem, who started the session with a Cab 9 and was going big until the end. Host Werni Stock said: “I am so happy we were able to pull off the Big Air Session, we really weren’t lucky with the weather. Sick riding from all, the fun level was high! It was another great Opening!”

DANCING ON THE RAILS – What a night! The 2nd edition of the SANE! Snowboarding Metal Battle Rail Contest went down on Saturday at the valley station of Hintertux glacier. The bad weather had no impact on the motivation of the riders, who delivered a truly crazy show on the stair set. Fabian Fraid (AUT) and Maisie Hill (GB) were happy about the main titles! “The riding level was super high despite challenging conditions. Riders destroyed the setup pretty much. It couldn’t have been any better!” says Michi Schatz from the SANE! Crew. Great atmosphere with many spectators who defied the bad weather. Host and DJ Max Glatzl kept everyone in good spirits and provided best tunes thanks to Soundboks. After the prize-giving everyone headed directly next doors to Hohenhaus Tenne for the big Opening Party.
