Snowbasin Resort Offers Weekday Foodie Experiences
Snowbasin Resort announces the new season of weekly Dining Discovery Cinnabar Experiences starting Tuesday, January 8th and running through March 12th. Explore cravings and try a new item every Tuesday in the Cinnabar. Scott Sniggs, Executive Chef says, “This is a unique opportunity to bring specialized cuisine to spice up your average ski day. The series encourages guests to step out of their culinary comfort zone, amidst the comfortable environment of Snowbasin.” Each week one of Snowbasin’s award-winning chefs will develop the menu and be present in the Cinnabar to answer questions and educate guests about the cooking methods and ingredients.
January 8th – Mongolian Hot Pots
Explore your cravings of Traditional Hot Pots where a simmering pot of broth is placed in the center of the table for sharing and the many ingredients are then cooked by those sharing the pot in the hot broth. The technique dates back more than 1000 years in Mongolia to the Jin Dynasty. It’s considered a very hearty, winter time meal that fits perfectly with the spirit of Dining Discovery
January 15th – The Joys of Beer and Chicken Wings
Who doesn’t like beer and wings? A match made in heaven for any dedicated fan of après ski. Snowbasin will have special Utah beers available for pairing and the Chefs will be busy making wings. They plan to have over a dozen different kinds of flavors with all different spice levels; available in orders of three.
January 22nd – Soul Food!
Snowbasin’s culinary professionals will create a fresh home-made Soul-food experience that will be one of the biggest southern delights this side of the Mississippi. ‘Soul Food’ today is more than 300 years in the making of traditions, ingredients, and cultures from all over the world. Slow-smoking, frying, and braising of field greens were typical means to cook, and from that come the great classics like Fried-Chicken, Fried Okra, Hush Puppies, Catfish, BBQ Ribs, chitterlings, collard greens, and cornbread.
January 29th – Oysters
One of the greatest culinary show cases in almost any culture. Snowbasin will fly in fresh oysters and procure them in various traditional and cutting-edge styles. Let Snowbasin do all the work, while guests get to sit back and enjoy. The chefs will also prepare all the accompaniments.
February 5th – Asian Fusion
Let Snowbasin chefs take the guest on a culinary adventure in the comforts of the Cinnabar slope- side at Snowbasin Resort. Their culinary team will prepare delights from all over the pacific rim and Indian Ocean fusing traditional cuisines of India with the ingredients and methods of other Asian cultures, and vice versa. Each plate will be made from scratch and come with a suggested beverage.
February 12th – ‘Fat Tuesday’ Creole Cuisine
Eat hearty for Mardi Gras! Cinnabar will host a ‘Fat Tuesday’ meal not be missed. The Director of Dining and Entertainment, Peter Baker, will take the culinary reigns for the Cinnabar this one day to
demonstrate his ‘Nola’ culinary skills. Creole Cuisine will include shrimp etoufee, red beans & rice, and gumbo.

Snowbasin’s culinary professionals will create a dazzling menu of items usually reserved for those south of the border. Choices will be a ‘southern-tour’ of dining bliss focused on items that many folks do not get to have made fresh for them – but here at Snowbasin Resort they want to share their passion with their guests. Items will include Paella, Seafood Enchiladas, Ceviche, and Fresh Moles.
