Snow Space Salzburg Starts The Winter Season With New Panorama Link Connecting Lift
The Snow Space Salzburg Bergbahnen started winter operations on December 24th. The central cable cars and slopes in the three villages of Flachau, Wagrain and St. Johann - Alpendorf are already open. This also includes the Panorama Link, the new connecting cable car between the Grießenkar ski mountain in Flachau / Wagrain and the neighboring ski areas Flachauwinkl / Kleinarl and Zauchensee. “Today, a vision that has been cherished for decades has come true: skiing over the 12 most beautiful peaks and 5 valleys of the Salzburg Pongau in the heart of Ski amadé. The new Panorama Link connection cable car makes it possible and sets a milestone in the history of our winter sports destination, ”explains Wolfgang Hettegger, CEO of Snow Space Salzburg Bergbahnen. The Panorama Link is a modern 10-seater gondola lift,
With the cable cars that go into operation today, three quarters of the slopes between Flachau / Wagrain and Zauchensee can be used. "We have chosen the cable cars in such a way that the largest possible range of slopes is available at the beginning of the season. If the number of visitors allows it, we will open additional cable cars at short notice," promises Hettegger.
Ski operation in challenging times
The joy about the start of the season is not unclouded. “This season we are facing a challenge that has never been seen before. In the weeks after Christmas and New Year's Eve, which are usually one of our busiest times, all holiday guests are gone. Nevertheless, we want to enable locals and day guests to ski. We want to show that skiing is safe thanks to the extensive safety concept, ”explains Hettegger. The company is said to have hardly brought any economic benefits in these weeks. Thanks to the connection to the Tauern motorway, the ski area is easily accessible for day guests. "We hope that the new ski connection and our diverse range of slopes will also give us the opportunity to score points with our day guests," said Hettegger.
Safe skiing thanks to extensive corona prevention measures
Weeks ago, the Snow Space Salzburg Bergbahnen presented a comprehensive concept of measures designed to minimize the risk of infection among ski guests. In addition to the measures already published, only half of the gondola and chairlifts will be occupied. Also new is the FFP2 mask requirement, which applies when traveling on a gondola or chairlift with a windbreak hood. The masks can be purchased for EUR 2.00 at the cash registers in Snow Space Salzburg. In addition, all the ticket office areas of the mountain railways will be relocated to the outside so that crowds can be avoided in closed rooms. “With our extensive preventive measures, our ski guests are largely protected from infection. If you have concerns about meeting other skiers in the gondola despite the high safety standards,
Payback guarantee for regular customers
There is a particularly accommodating solution in the area of ticket sales this season. On the one hand, the season ticket sales have been extended until December 31, 2020, on the other hand there is a usage-dependent payback guarantee. This means that if season ticket holders go skiing less than 15 times in the winter season, they will be reimbursed a proportionate amount at the end. This reimbursement is independent of the reason why the season ticket was not used in full.
