"Snow Crystal of Skiing" Awarded To Prof. Peter Schrocksnadel

"Snow Crystal of Skiing" awarded to Prof. Peter Schröcksnadel in recognition of outstanding achievements.
The award was presented to the longstanding ÖSV President, entrepreneur and cable car operator by ÖSV Vice President Alfons Schranz yesterday evening at the festive "Snow Crystal Gala Event" as part of the international trade fair INTERALPIN in the Dogana of the Congress Innsbruck.

The "Snow Crystal of Skiing" was created by the Austrian Ski Association in 1992 and is awarded to a person or institution every two years in recognition of outstanding achievements in popularizing skiing.

"Nobody deserves this award more than Peter Schröcksnadel." said ÖSV Vice President Alfons Schranz

In his speech, laudator Benjamin Raich highlighted the diverse services of Prof. Peter Schröcksnadel in all aspects of skiing. The successful entrepreneur was even awarded the title of professor for his efforts and pioneering work in the field of alpine safety. In his era as ÖSV President from 1990 to 2021, Schröcks Nadel managed to professionalize the association in all respects. Under his leadership, winter sports in Austria have reached unimagined heights. In addition, thanks to his innovative ideas, the visionary raised the winter sports events in Austria to a new level.

Double Olympic champion Benjamin Raich personally thanked the award winner for his passionate and voluntary commitment, which always focused on the well-being of the athletes. With his work and achievements, Prof. Peter Schröcks Nadel made a significant contribution to making the ÖSV known as a sporting and economically highly successful sports association and beyond the borders

ÖSV Vice-President Alfons Schranz : "For his achievements in the ÖSV, Peter Schröcks Nadel was already awarded the highest award of the association in 2017, the 'Golden Ring of Honor with Diamond'. For his life's work, with which he shaped skiing in Austria for many decades, no one deserves the "Snow Crystal of Skiing" more than Peter."

Among the numerous guests of honor and well-wishers were Stephan Eberharter, Hannes Reichelt, Raphael Haaser, Ricarda Haaser, Dominik Raschner and Ernst Vettori, numerous active and former top athletes of the Austrian Ski Association.
