Snow Australia Welcomes New Starters

Snow Australia is pleased to welcome a number of new starters who have recently commenced positions within the organisation.

Paris Speirs

Snow Australia is thrilled to announce Paris Speirs as the new NG32 Development Coach, a key position in shaping the future of Australian mogul skiing.

Paris will support athletes within the Snow Australia Emerging Talent Program, with the position designed in collaboration with the AIS to build coaching capability over two years.

This role includes contributing to international tours and events such as the FIS North American Cup and FIS Europa Cup.

Paris will also play an essential part in developing mogul athletes across NSW and Victoria, working closely with recognised programs like Team Buller Riders and the Perisher Winter Sports Club to identify and nurture emerging talent.

“I am most looking forward to learning as much as I can about myself at a personal and professional level from the live labs and e-learning that GEN32 provides,” Speirs said.

“Having access to more high performance work places and learning off other high performance sports will allow me to broaden my knowledge as a coach and provide better and innovative coaching to my athletes and hopefully at the end of my two years with NG32 there will be high performance job opportunities with NSWIS or OWIA.”

With Paris's expertise and dedication, the NG32 Program will help cultivate the next generation of Australian mogul skiers.

“The thing that inspires me to be a coach is seeing my athletes learn off me and make changes in training and use life tools that I give them to assist in making them not only better athletes but also better people,” Speirs said.

Emma Gilmore

Snow Australia is delighted to welcome Emma as the new National Integrity Manager.

With over 20 years of experience in strategic planning, operational management and a strong focus on diversity and inclusion, Emma brings valuable expertise to this role.

Having held senior leadership positions, including Interim CEO at Active Inclusion and National Athlete Wellbeing Manager at AusCycling, Emma has a proven track record in fostering growth and collaboration.

In her new position, Emma will focus on enhancing the National Integrity Framework, ensuring a safe, fair and clean sport environment.

As the primary contact for integrity matters, Emma’s role is shared part-time between Snow Australia and the Olympic Winter Institute of Australia, where she will continue to drive meaningful change and uphold the integrity of the sport.

Bobbi Kelly

Snow Australia is excited to welcome Bobbi Kelly as the new Para Pathway Lead & Development Coach.

Based at the National Snowsports Training Centre (NSTC), Bobbi will focus on developing the next generation of Para winter sport athletes, particularly in Para Alpine development.

Her role will involve coordinating development activities, supporting emerging talent, enhancing training environments, and promoting coach education.

Additionally, Bobbi will work closely with Snow Australia and its partners to expand classification opportunities and facilitate international camps.

“I'm most looking forward to working with a diverse range of people,” Kelly said.

“The para sport community is filled with incredible athletes, coaches, and support staff, and I’m excited to be part of that network, helping to develop talent and create meaningful opportunities.

“I want to continue building on the fantastic work that has already been done in this space.

“My goal is to expand opportunities in para sport, ensuring more athletes have access to the support, resources, and pathways they need to succeed.

“Development at all levels is key, and I’m committed to strengthening those pathways for emerging and high-performance athletes alike.”

With a strong passion for athlete development, including her previous guide role with Paralympian Mel Perine, Bobbi’s leadership will be vital in shaping Australia’s future Para snowsports success.

“Coming from a sporting background myself, I understand the profound impact sport can have on a person’s life,” Kelly said.

“It ignites a passion that is indescribable, and I want as many people as possible to experience that.

“Helping athletes achieve their goals and watching them grow in confidence and skill is an incredible feeling.

“My goal is to support them in getting what they want out of their sport, whether that’s competing at the highest level or simply finding joy in the journey.”
