Smartwool Names New Chief Financial Officer
Smartwool, a global active lifestyle Merino apparel company, announced today the internal promotion of Sarah Mallicote as the company’s new Chief Financial Officer. Mallicote’s promotion is effective immediately.
“Sarah is a great example of the caliber of talent we have internally at Smartwool. She is the perfect combination of professional experience and team fit,” explained Jen McLaren, Smartwool President. “She has extensive accounting experience both in the athletic and outdoor industry, as well as at some of the country’s top accounting firms while her love and passion for the outdoors truly embodies the ethos of the Smartwool® brand.”
As the new Chief Financial Officer, Mallicote will lead the strategic financial planning process for the global Smartwool enterprise to help it achieve its long-range goals while mitigating financial risks. She will also sit on the Smartwool Leadership Team, as well as lead a financial team of three people.
“Over the years, Sarah has held a variety of roles on the finance team,” stated McLaren. “Through it all, she has demonstrated key leadership skills in helping guide and mentor her team to a higher level of performance. She’s a team leader and I have no doubt she will help propel Smartwool to unprecedented levels.”
Upon completing her Masters of Accounting from University of Tennessee, Sarah began her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she worked in tax with real estate investment, private equity and hedge funds. Prior to joining Smartwool in early 2013, Mallicote was with Nike in the Emerging Markets division as a Purchasing Analyst. She has been a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants since 2007 and is a graduate of the Skip Yowell Future Leadership Academy.
