Ski Weekends Hits The Buffers (Briefly)

British Tour Operator Harris Holidays Ltd trading as Ski Weekends was placed into administration on 4 August 2020. Now you might assume that would spell the end of Ski Weekends, but Dan Fox of Harris Holidays which traded as Ski Weekends has purchased the name Ski Weekends from the administrators of Harris Holidays and will trade as [see if you can guess.... go on....]

Drum Roll......Ski Weekends....

The company described themselves as:

"SkiWeekends have been organising tailor-made flexible ski trips to the slopes for groups and individuals for over 30 years. Our aim at SkiWeekends is to help you ski when, where and for as long as you want, to some of the best and well-known ski areas in Europe. We now offer more choice than ever before. Book your own flights with travel possible from 17 UK airports and stay in one of our catered chalets or one of our 2-5* hotels."

It would appear that no customers will lose out according to a statement from ABTA:

The information below sets out specific advice for customers to follow depending on what holiday and travel arrangements they have booked.

The majority of holidays sold by Harris Holidays Limited were flight inclusive packages and these were protected by the CAA’s ATOL scheme. 

Harris Holidays also sold a small number of holidays which did not include flights which are protected by Financial Failure Insurance arranged through Towergate Chapman Stevens. 

Package holidays with flights included

If your booking included flights and was not with another tour operator, you will need to contact the CAA as your booking is protected by the CAA’s ATOL scheme. Further information and advice on how to claim is available on the CAA website.

Your ATOL Certificate will say ’Package Sale’ in the bottom right hand corner.

Non-flight packages 

If you booked a non-flight package holiday through Harris Holidays Ltd, it is protected by Financial Failure Insurance.

The company’s Administrator will be writing to all customers within the next few days with instructions on how to claim a full refund and provide contact details for customer enquiries.
