Ski Guide Austria Awards 2025 Go To Goldeck, Hochfilzen & Ski Amade
Since 2011, the Ski Guide Austria team has been awarding the “Ski Guide Austria Awards” for innovative ideas, creative campaigns or outstanding investments that give ski areas unique selling points and Austrian winter sports a boost. In the 16th year of the Ski Guide Austria, the jury has once again struck gold in its search for innovative ideas, creative campaigns or outstanding investments.
The Ski Guide Austria Award for innovative ideas, creative actions or outstanding innovations in 2025 goes to:
- GOLDECK For investments of several million euros in the ambitious expansion and significant improvement of the ski area. Particularly worth mentioning in this context are the new construction of the Goldalm mountain restaurant with top gastronomy at 2,050 meters above sea level, the new Kiss & Ski Area at the valley station of the Goldeckbahn, the new Seeblick piste with a view of Lake Millstatt, the new Glockner piste and the redesign and reopening of the steepest and longest black run in the Alps, the S1, the superlatives.
- HOCHFILZEN WITH TOURISM ASSOCIATION PILLERSEETAL For the outstanding positioning as an international biathlon stronghold, which is also reflected in the excellent cross-country skiing options for guests. The new investment in the first self-sufficient solar-lit night trail is groundbreaking. 50 photovoltaic panels with batteries enable the trail to be lit for several hours from dusk. With this innovation, Hochfilzen is becoming a model for environmentally friendly night sports in the Alps.
- SKI AMADÉ For continuous innovations to make Austria's largest ski region association more attractive and strengthen its brand. This includes not only 96 million euros invested in quality improvements for this season alone, but also the transparent and customer-friendly dynamic pricing system, numerous budget-friendly offers for families, children and young people, exceptional events and the focus on upscale cuisine. Also worth mentioning is the Best Learn2Ski amadeé, which sets new standards for the more than 40 ski schools in the ski association.
The recently published Ski Guide Austria is the first and only ski resort guide that provides a complete overview of winter sports in Austria – with more than 200 ski resorts, current prices, exceptional offers and the best tips for families and for a sustainable winter experience.
As usual, the 16th edition of the SKI GUIDE AUSTRIA, which is fresh off the press, contains the latest developments this winter. There is also a broad-based survey on the image of winter sports in Austria, which addresses, among other things, the quality of the offer and price development. But as in the 15 years before, the skiing experience in Austria is the focus of the SKI GUIDE AUSTRIA, which has been published in a whopping 420 pages. Around 70 top winter sports regions are presented on two to six pages, including panoramic views of the slopes, as well as all other places with lifts that are worth the trip for winter sports enthusiasts and snow fans. The book also explains how this can be done in a way that is climate-friendly.
