Ski Club Of Great Britain To Give Evie Pinching Award To 18 Year Old Skier Molly Butler

The Ski Club of Great Britain will give the 2025 Evie Pinching Award to Molly Butler for her outstanding achievements in Alpine ski racing during the past year. The award celebrates the next generation of young and upcoming skiers and snowboarders, helping them to reach their goal in their chosen snowsports – from slopestyle to downhill and everything in-between.

Molly is the current 2025 women’s British slalom champion and qualified for her first Alpine Skiing World Championships that took place in Saalbach-Hinterglemm (Austria) during February where she placed 34th in the Giant Slalom competition.

As well as the honour of receiving this historical award – previous winners include Katie Ormerod (2015), Menna Fitzpatrick (2016), and Thomas Gerken-Schofield (2017), Molly will receive a grant of £1,000 towards her ski racing costs over the next season.

Molly Butler said: “I’m really honoured to receive the Evie Pinching Award from the Ski Club. Being recognised in this way makes what has been my best ever season even more special as a lot of hard work starts to pay off. I’m hugely grateful for the grant that has been offered with this award too, it’s going to be an enormous help as we start to prepare for another season that includes trying to qualify for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina. Ski racing is a tough sport but we have made huge progress over the past twelve months and despite its challenges, I really love ski racing and it’s a huge privilege to represent my country in FIS competitions and during the 2025 Alpine Skiing World Championships that took place in February”.

Evelyn Pinching (1915-1988), was a British Alpine skier who won the women’s downhill and combined events in the 1936 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Innsbruck (Austria), and competed in the IV Olympic Winter Games, that took place during 1936 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Germany).
