Ski Areas of New York & New York State Energy Research and Development Authority announce program to assist Ski Industry purchase energy efficient snow guns.

Ski Areas of New York, Inc (SANY) in collaboration with New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) is pleased to announce a new program designed to assist the NYS Ski Industry in the purchase of energy efficient snowmaking guns.

This program is now live, effective 7/19/18, and it will provide up to $5,000,000 in funds at an 80/20 match, 80% from the program and 20% paid by the ski area subject to maximum funding based on snow gun type.

Scott Brandi President of SANY said, "NYSERDA has been very responsive to our request for assistance and the resulting program will offer support to NYS resorts in upgrading and expanding our snowmaking capacity and abilities. We are very grateful to Governor Cuomo, the State Legislature and NYSERDA for their support. With a maximum of $300,000 in funding allowed per resort we have insured the $5,000,000 will be equitably dispersed to all our ski areas, both large and small.
