Silvretta Montafon Starts The Winter Of 2021

The new Valisera Bahn and the Silvretta Park Montafon with the largest e-charging garage in Vorarlberg leave nothing to be desired. From December 2021 onwards, visitors to the Silvretta Montafon will have to: “Experience a new connection” and enjoy the coming season to the full. Winter sports fans can look forward to extensive freeride routes, perfect slopes and the longest valley run in Vorarlberg in the Silvretta Montafon ski area. In addition, the newly designed and converted Josefsheim is a meeting place waiting to be discovered by young and old.

New era of cable cars brings technical progress and maximum performance

After 40 years, the new Valisera Bahn is now replacing its predecessor. A world first is currently being created in St. Gallenkirch with the first semi-autonomously operated cable car. Reduced to the essentials, combined with modern design and unique architecture, the new 10-seater gondolas of the D-Line from Doppelmayr will be available to guests as a very special cable car experience from December 2021. The new comfort with twist-in system and indoor ski holder also includes integrated seat heating and offers barrier-free entry and exit. The low-noise and low-vibration train guarantees the highest level of passenger comfort and maximum technical performance.

The new Silvretta Park Montafon welcomes its guests

At the same time as the new Valisera Bahn, the Silvretta Park Montafon will also open its doors in December 2021. The modern multifunctional building complex is to become a place with quality of stay and meeting areas for guests, locals and employees. The Silvretta Park Montafon offers its visitors the largest e-charging garage in Vorarlberg with 50 integrated parking spaces for electric vehicles and a total of 600 parking spaces. Access to the Valisera Bahn can be reached via convenient direct access. In addition, a large market hall is integrated, which, with its various stations and regional ties, has the right offer for every taste. The integrated Intersport Shop with ski depot and a Kästle Test & Buy Center provides visitors with everything what is necessary for a successful day on the mountain. The ski school center is also on site. There you can get information about the current range of courses and additional booking options for mountain experiences with trained guides. In winter 2022/23 the Silvretta Park Montafon will score with another novelty: That is when the Revier Hotel Montafon will open in combination with a public restaurant and will be a fantastic starting point for all kinds of sports activities right at the cable car station.

The Josefsheim becomes a pleasant meeting place

From a former hospital to a modern hostel with alpine charm: The St. Josefsheim is not only an exciting place to stay, especially for younger target groups, but also offers a new gastronomic highlight and invites its guests to enjoy fresh coffee, crispy flatbreads and bowls made from regional ingredients. The ideal combination of gastronomy and hostel creates a location where young and old come together. The history of the house is preserved and the once so emotional place is given a new shine. Passers-by to linger and enjoy. What used to be hospital and birthing rooms are now modern, newly designed hostel rooms, which are primarily intended to bring the Silvretta Montafon closer to young recreational athletes.

Winter activities and culinary highlights

The Silvretta Montafon offers a wide variety of activities and has something for everyone. In winter you are completely relaxed and stress-free, without mountain passes and snow chains, in less than three hours from Munich in the Austrian ski region. Those who get up early will then be rewarded with a unique morning atmosphere on the mountain. The freshly groomed slopes, a wonderful panorama, the incomparable nature and a breathtaking sunrise accompany winter sports enthusiasts down the slopes. From the highest point of the Silvretta Montafon at over 2,430 meters, the longest valley run in Vorarlberg leads down into the valley to Schruns. With a hearty stop in the Kapellrestaurant or in the Nova Stoba with a panoramic view, every Wednesday and Friday with a wonderful mountain breakfast, the reserves of strength for the rest of the day are filled. After a long day of skiing, you can go straight from the slopes to wine tasting in the VINNOVA, Vorarlberg's highest wine bar. Accompanied by a sommelier, the participants can try the tasty variety of wines and enjoy regional cheese and ham specialties at a vintner's snack.
